🇬🇷 The Greek prefix ξανά- = “again”

Want to say that you’re doing something again? Greek often adds ξανά- to the verb!

🔹 γράφω → ξαναγράφω = I write → I write again
🔹 βλέπω → ξαναβλέπω = I see → I see again
🔹 κάνω → ξανακάνω = I do → I do again
🔹 λέω → ξαναλέω = I say → I say again

And it can also mean doing something anew / once more:

ξαναρχίζω = I start again
ξαναγυρίζω = I return / go back again

💡 So when you see ξανά- at the beginning of a Greek verb, think:
👉 “again!”
Once you spot it, you’ll start noticing it everywhere. 🇬🇷

Την άλλη εβδομάδα = next week ✅🇬🇷
When in Greek we say “the other week” we actually mean the upcoming week.

Quick examples:
“Την άλλη εβδομάδα θα είμαι ελεύθερος.” = “Next week I’ll be free.”
“Την άλλη εβδομάδα θα πάμε διακοπές.” = “We’re on vacation next week.”

Ο φίλος μου vs ένας φίλος μου 🇬🇷✨
Same words, different meaning: my specific friend vs one friend of mine. 👇🎥

«Ο φίλος μου» = “my friend” (the particular friend I mean. We usually both know who), THE friend of mine, if it's not followed by a name i mean my boyfriend.
«ένας φίλος μου» = “a friend of mine”, just a friend, any/one)

Example- Παράδειγμα:
- Ο φίλος μου ο Γιώργος είναι γιατρός.” = “My friend (the one we’re talking about), Giorgos, is a doctor.”
- Ο φίλος μου είναι στο σπίτι= My boyfriend is home.
- Χθες γνώρισα έναν φίλο του που ζωγραφίζει. = “Yesterday I met a friend of his who paints.”

«Καλά πάει η δουλειά!» =
