It's Christmas time 🎄 and it's almost time for Santa Claus to do his present delivery thing. 🎁

But how does Santa Claus use the time zones to his advantage on Christmas Eve to help him deliver presents around the world 🌍?

It's on - Science Week 2024 in Ireland has begun! ⚡️My adventures started on Saturday Nov 9th at Nenagh Library where I spoke about 'The Super Science of Spider-Man' as part of the Tipperary Festival of Science.

Thanks to Maeve Liston and Patricia O'Sullivan for the invite to open the Tipperary Festival of Science with the science behind New York's favourite webslinger. 🕷️

From today, I'm delivering shows all around Ireland until Saturday November 23rd!

Looking forward to driving Ireland, visiting familiar places and new places, and taking in the range of candidate election posters that are appearing around the country with the Irish national election taking place on November 29th.

Science Week 2024 in Ireland is fast approaching! 🚀

I'm kicking things off my adventures with the Tipperary Festival of Science at Nenagh Library on Saturday November 9th with two shows on "The Super Science of Spider-Man"! 🕷️

The shows take place at 10.00 am and 11.30 am, and you can book your tickets using the Eventbrite link 👇.

And - you're invited to come dressed up as your favourite Spider-Man character too!

These are shows for all the family, with plenty of science and entertainment included.

Superheroes - a scientist and a historian debate the biggest movie genre today Etienne F. Augé and Barry W. Fitzgerald combine their superpowers to understand and explain superheroes.

It's Engineers Week 2024 in Ireland and I'm embarking on a mini-tour. 🦾

4 stops at 4 different locations as I bring my new talk "Extreme Engineering" around the island of Ireland.

Here are the dates and locations for the tour:

1. Sligo for the Sligo Engineering Fair at ATU Sligo (general public) - 3rd March 2024 (already done and it was great fun)

2. Selskar College, Wexford (secondary school) - 6th March 2024

3. University of Limerick, Limerick (workshops with primary school students visiting the campus) - 7th March 2024

4. Rath Dara Community College (secondary school) - 8th March 2024

⚡ 'Superheroes' has arrived! My latest book - co-written with Etienne Augé and published with Bot Uitgevers in the Netherlands - is a fact. And it's out now!

It's my 4th book, 1st with a publisher, and 1st with a co-author. Etienne and I had a whole lot of fun writing this book, and we disagreed about almost everything while writing it (except for how great The Boys as a superhero series is).
