To spark our new Unit ‘We Belong!’, our Early Years class met poor Pip, a little leopard who was feeling shy, unsure, and like he didn’t quite belong.
The students were challenged to think about an important question: What could we do to help Pip feel welcome and show him that he belongs in our class?
They came up with so many thoughtful ideas! Together, they created a poster filled with suggestions for helping Pip feel safe, included, and cared for. But they didn’t stop there — throughout the day, the children made sure to include Pip in their play, learning, and classroom activities.
Through this simple provocation, the children began exploring what it really means to belong to a community and how our actions can help others feel that they are an important part of it.
A beautiful start to our inquiry into belonging, community, and caring for one another. 🏡❤️

🎉 A new school year means a new School Council!

Our Head of School, Ms Louise, kicked off our very first School Council meeting of the year with an exciting call for candidates!

The School Council gives our students a real voice in school life. They will represent their classmates and share their ideas, thoughts and suggestions on big decisions, improvements and new ideas for our school. 💡

This week, we’re encouraging students to put themselves forward and share why they would make a great School Council representative. Next week, it’s time to vote! 🗳️

We can’t wait to see who steps up and takes on this exciting role! 🌟

If you’ve ever wondered who helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced Armida’s superpower in action.

Armida brings a friendly, cheerful, and proactive energy to our school community every day. One of the things she loves most about her role is connecting with families who are embarking on the same journey she once took herself. Having moved abroad at a young age, she understands the excitement, uncertainty, and opportunities that come with starting a new chapter in a different country. Helping families feel welcomed and supported is what makes her work especially meaningful.

A fun fact about Armida? When she was 14, she moved to Portugal with her family to live on a self-sustaining ecological farm, surrounded by sheep, horses, olive and cherry trees — and even a donkey! 🌱

We’re grateful for the warmth, positivity, and dedication Armida brings to our community. 💙

Last Friday, we celebrated the closing of our Home Language Week! 🪅

Despite the heat wave, the students enthusiastically joined the last workshops in the morning before we came together with our parent community and visitors from AnnoNu, and to celebrate a fantastic week.

The children proudly showcased everything they had learned and created, while families shared delicious international dishes. 🍽️🌎

Thanks to the amazing contributions of parents and staff, we hosted 25+ workshops exploring 15+ languages, countries, and cultures. We are incredibly proud of our community and grateful to everyone who helped make this week so special.

We can’t wait to bring Home Language Week back next year! 🙏

Today was another fantastic day of our Home Language Week filled with inspiring workshops led by our parents, students, and teachers. It has been wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate the richness and diversity of our home languages and cultures.

We are now busy preparing for tomorrow’s closing exhibition and celebration, where we look forward to showcasing all the amazing learning and experiences from this special week. 🌍✨

Day 3 of our Home Language Week was filled with wonderful learning experiences! 🌍✨

We were delighted to welcome some amazing parents who shared their cultures, languages, and traditions with us. Our students loved discovering traditional Romanian clothing, learning about Malaysian games, exploring delicious Italian food, and experiencing Chinese language and culture.

A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us today and helped make these experiences so meaningful and memorable. ❤️

And Day 2 of our Home Language Week is a wrap! 🌍✨

Today, our children proudly took part in a Flag Parade through the neighbourhood, celebrating the many languages and cultures that make our community so special. Dressed in international clothing and carrying their flags, they shared a beautiful message of diversity and belonging.

We were delighted to visit our Dutch partner school, Kbs De Kubus - Onderbouw and also De Magneet, where we performed our dance we have been learning during this week thanks to Ms. Payal Chatterjee and interacted with their students🕺

The day ended with another round of engaging workshops, filled with creativity, learning, and fun! 🎨📚

Despite the heat, we’ll be continuing our Home Language Week with shortened school days to keep everyone comfortable and safe. ☀️

Last week, our Upper Primary students enjoyed an unforgettable two-day school camp in the beautiful natural surroundings of Zeewolde. Accompanied by their teacher Mr. Lee, Ms. Louise, and Mr. Vincent from Skillz United, the students spent their time exploring, learning, and creating lasting memories together.
From trying their hand at pyrography to energetic rounds of Capture the Flag, exciting group games such as Werewolf, and even cooking together, there was no shortage of fun, teamwork, and adventure.
It was wonderful to see students building friendships, developing new skills, and enjoying the outdoors. We hope this camp will remain a special and cherished memory for years to come! 💚🏕️🔥
