Beyond the surface.
A mountain holds more than stone. It holds colour you haven’t named yet. Texture that took 400 million years to form. Patterns no one has seen until the first cut is made.
We go to the source. Not to take, but to discover. Every quarry is an archive. Every slab, a revelation.

What happens to the stone that doesn’t make it into a project?
Last year, together with we puzzled. ‘Offcut Puzzle’ turns warehouse offcuts into new patterns for floors, walls and furniture. Nothing wasted. Everything reworked.
Stone remnants are scanned and rebuilt into seamless designs, ready to be shaped into many kinds of projects. Marte Mei creates the design, and we contribute our materials, expertise and production.
Elements of this work are now part of Marte Mei’s solo exhibition ‘Mending Lands’ at Antwerp, a glimpse of what this collaboration can become at scale.

The ramp at Rotterdam was designed by Rem Koolhaas/OMA as a threshold, a space between inside and outside, between street and museum.
Sabine Marcelis made it a place to stop.
Continuum is a series of marble volumes placed along the 25-metre corridor, separated from the exterior only by glass. The Green Manna Marble with its vivid, layered veining gives the installation a presence that shifts as you move through it.

What if everyday spaces were shaped by long-term value, purpose, and mindfulness?
Detailing Il Sonno Supermarket.
By introducing natural stone into a setting defined by consumption, the installation repositions material as a carrier of value. Durable, timeless, and deeply connected to the earth, stone challenges the logic of disposability and invites a more conscious way of engaging with the everyday.
All pieces are crafted from off cuts of later-scale projects and precious installations, reinforcing a cycle where material is continuously revalued rather than discarded.
A shift from transaction to reflection.

Within the curated landscape of ’s Room for Dreams, SolidNature presents Il Sonno Supermarket.
A concept conceived by AMO/.eu’s . This immersive experience reimagines the daily act of grocery shopping as a profound journey through geological time. By replacing ordinary household commodities with stone artifacts, the installation challenges the culture of disposability and invites a shift in perspective where modern consumption is replaced by awareness.

We’re back at Milan Design Week, in collaboration with Designboom.
For this year’s Milan Design Week, SolidNature collaborates with Samir Bantal and AMO, OMA’s think tank and design studio, to create a large-scale installation in the hotel’s open-air garden.
Together, we explore how stone can become a medium for imagination, shaping a space where everyday routines are reimagined and transformed.

A sphere of Brown Bamboo Marble at the warehouse.
This marble ball is the base for a very special design piece focused on balance.
