¡No dejes que los “false friends” arruinen tu español! 😳
En español, hay palabras que se parecen al inglés… pero significan algo totalmente distinto.
Si dominas esto, sonarás como un experto y evitarás momentos incómodos. 😉

1️⃣ Embarazada vs. Embarrassed
I’m embarrassed!
❌ Error: “¡Estoy embarazada!”
👉 Acabas de decir que estás embarazada 🤰
✅ Reality: Embarazada = Pregnant
✨ Correct way:
✔️ “Tengo vergüenza”
✔️ “Estoy avergonzado/a”

2️⃣ Introducir vs. Introduce
I want to introduce you to my friend
❌ Error: “Quiero introducir a mi amigo…”
👉 Suena como si quisieras “meter” a tu amigo en algo 😅
✅ Reality: Introducir = Insertar
✨ Correct way:
✔️ “Te quiero presentar a mi amigo…”

3️⃣ Librería vs. Library
I’m going to the library to borrow a book
❌ Error: “Voy a la librería a prestar un libro”
✅ Reality: Librería = Bookstore (tienda de libros)
✨ Correct way:
✔️ “Voy a la biblioteca a prestar un libro”

4️⃣ Soportar vs. Support
❌ Error: “Yo soporto mi escuela local”
👉 Estás diciendo que la “toleras” 😤
✅ Reality: Soportar = Tolerar / aguantar
✨ Correct way:
✔️ “Yo apoyo a mi escuela local”

5️⃣ Éxito vs. Exit
❌ Error: “¿Dónde está la éxito del edificio?”
👉 Estás preguntando por el “éxito” 😂
✅ Reality: Éxito = Success
✨ Correct way:
✔️ “¿Dónde está la salida del edificio?”

In 2012, two young dreamers on Ometepe Island saw a wall: the language barrier. People wanted to connect, to belong, but they couldn't find the words.

That’s how Altagracia Spanish School was born.

It hasn’t just been about grammar. It’s been a journey of:

En 2012, dos jóvenes en la Isla de Ometepe vieron una barrera: el idioma. Muchos querían conectar con nuestra tierra, pero no encontraban las palabras.

Así nació Altagracia Spanish School.

No ha sido solo gramática; ha sido un viaje de:

A nuestro equipo desde el primer día: Ustedes son las raíces de este sueño. Gracias por creer cuando esto era solo una idea.
