Happy Tuesday!

One of the highlights of my week days seeing my children after school. They’re always ready to give me the low down of their day and I’m always ready to listen, even when the stories don’t seem to have an ending 😅😅

Once I ask them “what’s the gist for today?” Hhhmmm they take turns to go on and on and on with every detail. I love it!!!

The funny thing is after they have told me everything, as soon as they see their dad, they also give him the gist from the beginning to the end as if it’s the first time they are talking about it 😆

It’s been such a great way to bond, to get to know them better and to correct them when necessary.

I’d like to encourage you as a parent to deliberately invest into just listening to your children;

I know you’re busy BUT THIS must be a priority. As often as you can, have thoughtful conversations, engage in activities they enjoy, let them be free and open with you. Let them ENJOY being around you.

Don’t just be focused on providing leadership, we must also promote the platform for a relationship with them. it really positively impacts your relationship with them and if you remain consistent, it gets BETTER as they get older! Wishing you God’s best on your parenting journey.
