*🚨 TENSION AT FUOYE OVER REPORTED POLICE ATTEMPT TO ARREST VC*

Tension reportedly erupted in Ado-Ekiti after police officers arrived at the residence of FUOYE Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, around 6:10 a.m., allegedly to arrest him.

According to Ogunwole, the officers presented an arrest warrant and said the matter was connected to a petition allegedly filed by individuals linked to the university, including former VC Prof. Abayomi Fasina and former Law Dean Dr Kehinde Adeola.

Staff and students later gathered at the VC’s residence in solidarity. ASUU, NAAT and NASU also expressed support, while FUOYE’s Director of Public Affairs, Dr Sunday Saanu, criticised the police action.

The matter reportedly relates to a disputed leaked audio recording and subsequent investigative and court proceedings.

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) commenced the release of admission offers for the 2026/2027 academic session through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Fresh admission offers are reportedly beginning to appear on the JAMB CAPS portal for eligible candidates, signalling the commencement of the university’s 2026/2027 admission exercise.

Candidates who selected UNILORIN as their preferred institution are therefore advised to log in to their JAMB CAPS accounts regularly to check their admission status.
