Dabzi – A lazy but vocal student

Shua – A bright but discouraged girl

Class Chorus – Other students adding background noise

[Scene opens in a dusty classroom. The chalkboard has equations. Mr. Jocthan stands by it, sweating slightly, chalk in hand.]

Mr. Jocthan (with energy):
Today, we’re solving this quadratic equation. Focus. This one na for your WAEC and your life!

Dabzi (whispering loudly):
Life? Abeg uncle, which life? Maths no dey put food for table.

[Class murmurs. Some laugh. A few bang desks playfully.]

Mr. Jocthan (frustrated):

Mr. Jocthan (sighs deeply):

[He picks up his chalk again, turns slowly to the board.]

For those who still care — open your notebook. Let’s continue.

[Fade out as chalk touches the board again. A few students sit up. One or two open their books.]

WHAT MAKES MATHS TEACHERS HAPPY:
Maths teachers often find happiness in several rewarding aspects of their work:

1. **Student Understanding and Progress**: Nothing brings more joy than seeing a student grasp a difficult concept—especially after struggling. Watching the “aha!” moment happen in real time is deeply satisfying.

2. **Problem-Solving Satisfaction**: Maths teachers enjoy the logical beauty and clarity of mathematics. Solving complex problems and teaching others to do the same can be both mentally stimulating and personally fulfilling.

3. **Inspiring Confidence**: Helping students overcome math anxiety or develop a love for the subject boosts a teacher’s morale. Knowing they’ve built confidence in someone who once feared numbers is a powerful motivator.

4. **Making Real-World Connections**: When students see how maths applies to everyday life or careers—like engineering, tech, finance—it gives the teacher a sense of purpose and impact.

5. **Respect and Appreciation**: Hearing “You made maths easier for me” or “Because of you, I enjoy maths now” reminds teachers that their effort matters and is changing lives.

6. **Professional Growth and Community**: Collaborating with fellow educators, attending workshops, and watching former students succeed all contribute to a maths teacher’s happiness and sense of accomplishment.

I want to have your opinion on why students fear mathematics.

To be a mathematician you need discipline.
Consistency is a key.

LEAVE YOUR FEMALE STUDENTS ALONE!

This is not just a warn!ng—this is a cr¥. A cr¥ for the girl child. A cr¥ for our schools. A cr¥ for sanity.

Dear young male teacher,

You are gifted. You are admired. Your presence alone makes the girls sit up, eager to learn. You speak with passion, you dress smart, you explain well—and you may not know this—but many of those girls in your class are secretly cru$h!ng on you.

But listen carefully: Their admiration is not permission. Their smiles are not an invitation. Their boldness is not maturity.

They are still children. Tender. VulnerabI3. Still figuring out their emotions. What they feel is not love—it is confusion dressed in admiration. They trust you. They believe in you. And when you cross that sacred line… you k!II something in them.

You kiIIher confidence.
You kiII her future.
You kiII her right to grow up whole and safe.

Let me tell you what many don’t talk about.

There are girls walking around today—empty, br0ken, hiding pa!n under their makeup—because a teacher who was supposed to protect them u$ed them.

Some dropped out of school with swollen bellies.
Some ended up in danger0u$ relationships they didn’t deserve.
Some can no longer focus in class.
Some lost their voice.
Some have never healed.
And what’s worse? Many of them still blame themselves.

You were supposed to be her mentor. Her light. Her guide. Instead, you became her first heartbr£ak, her first betrayaal, her first $hame.

Let me say this loud and clear: If a girl student ever gets bold enough to come close, it is because you have already given her the signal.
Yes—you may not have touched her yet, but your boundary is already weak. And weak boundaries are a silent invitation to destruct!on.

Don’t tell yourself “it’s love.” It’s not.
Don’t say “she started it.” She didn’t.
Don’t say “others have done it.” That’s no excuse.
The truth is: many male teachers have ru!ned the destiny of the girl child in the name of love. And nobody talks about it enough
