Maryam Dan-Azumi is the first female winner in history of the King Abdulaziz International Qur’an Competition.

The 19-year-old from Gombe state placed first in full memorization category and won ₦120 million. The Saudi competition included female contestants for the first time since its founding 46 years ago.

Ba shi da idanu, amma Alqur'ani ya bude masa wata fatawa daban. 👀🕊️

Wannan yaro makaho ne — amma kwaikwaiyon muryar Husary da Ayyub da yake yi, zai ba ka mamaki.

A lokacin musabaƙa har kujerar da za a ɗora shi aka riƙe hannunsa a kai masa kyauta.

Ya riga ya yi Juzu'i 10 da Tajwid, kuma yanzu za a fafata da shi a matakin jiha ba da jimawa ba, in sha Allah.

Wannan baiwa ba karama ba ce ga Gombe da Najeriya baki daya — kuma manyan malamai da furofesoshi na alfahari da irin wannan gwaninta.

Allah Ya nuna mana: wasu na da ido amma ba su gani, wasu kuma ba su da ido amma suna gani sosai.

Ba kawai muryoyinsu ba ne kake ji, hasken imani da natsuwa ne kake gani a fuskokinsu.

Wadannan su ne gwanaye, wadanda s**a sanya Alqur'ani ya zama rayuwarsu.

A Rousing Welcome as the World’s Qur’anic Recitation Champion in Saudi Arabia Arrives Home, Gombe Nigeria
...She represented Nigeria and won for the country

Gombe State proudly welcomes home its daughter, Maryam Ibrahim Dan’azumi, the overall winner of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Qur’anic Competition in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Maryam, who represented Nigeria in the category for complete Qur’an memorisation, recitation, Tajweed and Tafsir, defeated contestants from several countries to emerge world champion, bringing immense pride to Gombe State and Nigeria.

Her historic victory is even more remarkable as the 46th edition marked the first time females participated in the 46-year history of the prestigious competition.

From winning at the Gombe LGA level, to becoming state and national champion, Maryam has demonstrated exceptional dedication, discipline and mastery of the Holy Qur’an.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, congratulated Maryam, her parents, teachers and the entire Muslim community, describing her achievement as a source of immense pride and inspiration, particularly for young girls.
