LEÇON SIX
LES ARTICLES (ARTICLES)

It is important to note that unlike in English language, in french, all nouns are accompanied with an article.
Examples of french nouns are
1.sac
2.Table
3.Télévision
4.fille
5.Garçon
6.maison
7.stylo
8.crayon
Etc

All nouns are gender sensitive. Thats is to say that French nouns are either masculine or feminine. in the same vain, our articles are either masculine or feminine too.
we are going to study our definite articles(L'article défini)

Internet English, our definite articles are " a or an"
in french, we have
1. le (masculine)
2.La (feminine)
3.l' (used before a vowel or a mute H)
4.les ( plural)

1.Le (masculine)
This is used before masculine nouns.Eg.le sac (the bag)
le tableau (the board)

2.La (feminine )
this is used with feminine nouns Eg
la fille (the girl)
la table (the table)
la porte (the door)

3. L'
This is used before a vowel or mute "h" Eg l'avion (the aeroplane)
l'homme (the man)

4.Les (plural )
this is the plural form
Weather masculine or feminine) Eg

les filles (the girls)
les garçons (the boys)
les avions (the aeroplanes)
