TO NIGERIANS:
When a mortar is poorly made of the wrong mixture, the structure/building will still collapse now matter how concretised are the blocks.
Picture Nigeria with the above lines. You cannot build a house on lies and have it stand.
The leadership isn't correct.
While the leadership is evidently poor, corrupt and soulless, some, if not a worrisome number of Nigerians claim to be okay with it for reasons that do not and will not hold true such as bigotry, tribalism, negative religious sentiments to mention a few.
The appointment of the new Minister of Defence is one thing not enough to save this house called Nigeria. More bold and courageous calls are expected to be made by the presidency to prove decisive towards bettering the already woeful situation Nigeria is being plunged into.
Even though some citizens, during the last electioneering boasted that the ability and leadership credentials of the incumbent president were topnotch and comparably better, the entire formation of his government across the lines of appointments and other indices to this moment prove the opposite of their initial score clearly.
One interesting thing about Nigerians is that they allow the shadows of religion, tribe and language seize their basic thoughts and common sense against the fundamental parameters of leadership qualities needed in a candidate to fill in a leadership position regardless of party affiliations and cult. Hence, the improper and wrong leaders emerge as a result.
Why? Perhaps, they partake from the subtle gifts of corrupt politicians without assimilating enough to judge the merits and the demerits or measures of their political ideologies in relation to the growth of the country. This relics are disturbingly cutting very deeply into the fabrics of what should make a better country suitable, first, for all citizens and then beyond (which includes investors, international policies, foreign affairs and exchanges, etc).
The period of general elections is drawing nigh, and as usual, the thinking faculties of some citizens (I won't say most because the outcome of electoral results largely does not reflect the actual vote counts) will begin to go in dip direction like a recurring curse; they will remain so until the situation rehappens again. Then, only then, non benefactors (the larger community) will begin the complaints, while the benefactors (the smaller community) will begin the defence of the corruption, poor leadership, impunity and remorseless falsehood the eventual leaders dish out to the nation respectively.
It's a terrible situation and sadly so when the nation's economy, the security of lives and properties are being staked at high costs.
But, I pray this unhealthy cycle does not repeat again in this coming general elections. Let them that have ear, hear...

Nigerians need a breed of leadership (a general or generalised opposition) constitution that is nowhere complicit or have any tie binding them with all forms of corruption and terrorism fronts to salvage them from all this mess...
