I Choose Dependence over Independence
There is this freedom you have in being dependent. Those things that you should have figured them out by yourself, you will easily surrender them to the person you are depending on and go on. It will become his business to ensure that the next time you are coming, he has made those things ready for you. He may make it available before you even ask and call you to come and take. By then, you will not be the one to be worried but him.
When you're depending, you will enjoy restrictions such as don't go here, don't do this, don't touch this, avoid this person, avoid this group, don't say so, and so, go to this place, make friends with these types of people, and many others restrictions.
At times that restrictions seem grievous and burdensome to us until we are left to decide for ourselves. By the time we are to submit our needs and cares to ourselves, decide where to go and where not to go, it will become more difficult.
I now discovered that the hardest and most difficult discipline in life is self-discipline. Because nobody will query what you do, nor where you go to. This time fate will be the one to reward you. The most fearful part is that the reward (punishment or appreciation) will not be immediately. You will be allowed to live as if nothing will happen no matter how bad you behave. But something will surely happen.
When you are under guardian(s) your reward (punishment) mostly come immediately you deviated. After that reward, you will be guided on how to go on with that same stuff. You had opportunity to easily correct your wrong. You are not rewarded with regret for the rest of your life.
At the moment you become independent, you are left to choose by yourself. Whatever you choose and are pursuing zealously, your reward will come most times when there is not more chance to make amend.
Another difficult thing I discovered is advising myself. In dependence, I seek advice. The advisor will be very careful not to mislead me or lead me astray. He collate data from his experiences, experiments of life, mistakes, successes and many other sources of advisory data sources, analyze them, interpret to me, and recommends, policy measures for me. But once, I stand independence I will have to collate non existing data, assume analysis, and forecast experience and experiment, predict interpretations and draw abstract recommendations. That alone is burdensome. Most times when I am dealing with forecasting, I hold most of the life situations constant or assume that"if..." Assuming that all things remain constant is the highest deception I even learned about. All things will never remain constant. Let's return and draw conclusion.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, and as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy and loving-kindness for us.
Psalms 123:2 AMPC
I willingly choose to depend on God for everything than to be independent and be doing them by myself.
