ADUSTECH COMMENCES APPLICATION FOR 2026/2027 PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES

The Institute for Continuing and Innovative Education (ICIE), Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano State, has officially commenced applications for its 2026/2027 Academic Session Part-Time Degree Programmes.

The initiative provides an opportunity for working-class individuals, entrepreneurs, public servants, and other qualified candidates to pursue university education while balancing their professional responsibilities and personal commitments.

The part-time degree programmes are designed to promote access to higher education through flexible learning arrangements, enabling interested candidates to acquire relevant academic qualifications, enhance their professional competencies, and advance their career prospects.

ON THE ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2 MEGA WATT SOLAR MINI-GRID PROJECT AT ADUSTECH WUDIL, KANO STATE

The ongoing construction of the 2-Megawatt (2MW) Solar Mini-Grid Project at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano State, represents a significant step towards improving electricity supply and the University academic and administrative operations.

The project being implemented during the Administration of Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice-Chancellor ADUSTECH Wudil, is expected to deliver substantial benefits to students, staff, and the University community.

EXPECTED BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT

1.The project is expected to provide a more reliable electricity supply to support essential university operations and improve the daily experience of students and staff.

2.Improved electricity is expected to create a more conducive learning environment, support private reading and academic activities, and enhance lighting in relevant student areas.

3.The solar mini-grid is expected to support electricity needs in lecture theatres, laboratories, classrooms, offices, and research facilities, subject to the project distribution capacity.

4. Improved campus lighting, particularly at night, thereby contributing to a safer and more comfortable university environment.

5.The project has the potential to reduce reliance on fuel-powered generators, lower fuel consumption, and minimise noise pollution.

6.Reliable electricity is expected to support administrative activities, improve working conditions, and strengthen the delivery of university services.

7.The use of solar energy will contribute to cleaner energy generation and may reduce carbon emissions associated with conventional fossil-fuel electricity

8.Depending on the project performance and maintenance costs, the University may achieve savings on fuel and other electricity-related expenses, allowing resources to be directed towards other institutional priorities.

The project has a planned generation capacity of 2 megawatts, equivalent to 2,000 kilowatts of power. This capacity represents a substantial energy infrastructure investment designed to support the University electricity needs. The actual facilities served and the level of electricity coverage will depend on the system's design, distribution network, storage capacity, and overall campus demand.

The 2MW Solar Mini-Grid Project reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure at ADUSTECH Wudil. Special recognition goes to Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice-Chancellor, for his leadership and efforts in advancing the project during his administration, with the expected benefits extending to Student's welfare, academic activities, staff productivity, and the University's overall development.
