Examination malpractice became parents, children and teachers affair, the cry from many quarters to the government to return missionary schools to their original owners fell on deaf ears.There became a dire need for a school which would serve as a role model in this immediate environment. Anthony's co- educational schools, Ugborikoko, became the brain child of the then Auxiliary Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. John Afareha and approved by his Grace Most Rev. Dr. Richard Burke, SPS, the then Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese. The school was opened on Thursday 25th September, 2000 with the celebration of the Holy Mass by his Lordship, Most. Dr. John Afareha. The school's initial name was St. Anthony's nursery and primary school, Ugborikoko until the secondary section was added and the name was changed to St. Anthony's Group of Schools. The school is located at Ugborikoko-Effurun, Airport Road warri, Delta State.
