International Day of Women and Girls in Science highlights the vital role of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It promotes equal access to education, research, and leadership in STEM fields.

The theme, From Vision to Impact, Redefining STEM by Closing the Gender Gap, calls for action. Many girls have strong interest and ability in science, yet fewer pursue STEM careers. UNESCO reports that women make up about 33 percent of researchers globally. This gap limits innovation and progress.
Closing the gender gap strengthens communities and economies. When girls receive support in STEM subjects, they gain skills to solve real problems in health, climate, technology, and industry. Schools and families must encourage girls to study science subjects, join science clubs, and take part in competitions and research projects.

From vision to impact means turning ideas into measurable change. It means mentoring girls, removing barriers, and creating equal opportunities. When girls thrive in STEM, society benefits from diverse ideas and stronger solutions.
