Saxion Bachelor Scholarships for International Students Netherlands, 2016

Saxion University is inviting applications for bachelor scholarships for international students. There are four types of scholarships available: Saxion University for Saxion Talent, Saxion Holland Top Talent, Extended Saxion Talent Saxion Living Technology scholarship. For September intake the deadline is 1 May, for the February intake the deadline is 1 December.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the Saxion University for Saxion Talent, Saxion Holland Top Talent and Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship. For Saxion Living Technology scholarship the following programmes are eligible for the SLTS: Art and Technology, Art and Technology (SDP), Civil Engineering (SDP), Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Game Design & Production, Game Engineering, Business Information Technology, IT Service Management, Software Engineering, Environmental Science (SDP), Urban and Regional Planning (SDP), Urban Design (SDP), Textile Engineering & Management and Textile Engineering & Management (SDP).

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing bachelor degree level at Saxion University.

Scholarship Provider: Saxion University, Netherlands

Scholarship can be taken at: Netherlands

Eligibility: Saxion Talent Scholarship: You must have outstanding study results, with an average mark of 75% or higher,
-You must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher,
-You must be in or starting the admission procedure to one of Saxion’s International Bachelor Programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
-You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
-Scholarships are only awarded for programmes of at least 6-month duration,
-Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.
-This scholarship will only be granted if you receive no other scholarship.

Saxion Holland Top Talent Scholarship: You must have outstanding study results, with an average mark of 75% or higher,
-You must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher,
-You must be in or starting the admission procedure to one of Saxion’s International Bachelor Programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
-You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
-Scholarships are only awarded for programmes of at least 6-month duration,
-Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.
-This scholarship will only be granted if you receive no other scholarship.

Saxion Living Technology Scholarship: To be eligible for the SLTS:
-You must have outstanding study results, with an average mark of 75% or higher,
-You must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher,
-You must be in or starting the admission procedure to one of the above mentioned international technical Bachelor Programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
-You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
-Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.
-This scholarship will only be granted if you receive no other scholarship.
Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship: The Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship is a scholarship for students who have passed the first year of their bachelor program and would like to continue studying in the next study year (2nd, 3rd or 4th year) at Saxion University. A student is required to have gained at least 54 ECTS credits in one study year in order to be granted the ESTS for the September re-registration. The ESTS consists of a reduction on the tuition fee. The amount is the same as the Saxion Talent Scholarship.
Scholarship Open for International Students: International Students can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description:Very proud to be able to offer scholarships! Over the years we developed several scholarships that are available for talented international Bachelor students.
-Saxion Talent Scholarship: a scholarship for international bachelor students.
-Saxion Holland Top Talent Scholarship: a scholarship for ‘top of the class’ international bachelor students.

What does it cover? -Saxion Talent Scholarship: a partial scholarship is available that will give a substantial reduction on the tuition fee.
-Saxion Holland Top Talent Scholarship: covers the tuition fee, with exception of the governmental registration fee which is approximately € 1,951.- (for 2015/2016).
-Saxion Living Technology Scholarship: The SLTS covers a waiver of € 10.000,- on the total package fee.
-Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship: The ESTS consists of a reduction on the tuition fee. The amount is the same as the Saxion Talent Scholarship.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online.
Saxion Talent Scholarship: The application for your Bachelor course, will also count as application for the Saxion Talent Scholarship. If you meet the entry requirements, the scholarship will automatically be granted to you on a first come, first served basis. You don’t have to fill in another application form for just the scholarship. The total number of available scholarships is limited.
Extended Saxion Talent Scholarship (ESTS): Applicants will receive more information about the application procedure for the ESTS every year with your re-registration information.

DAAD Scholarships for Developing Countries’ Students, 2016-2017

Applications are invited for DAAD scholarships from developing countries‘ students. The scholarships are available for pursuing a postgraduate degree at German institutions of Higher education. These scholarships provide monthly installment of EUR 750.00. and also include the costs for health, accident and liability insurance in Germany and an adequate travelling allowance.
Study Subject(s): DAAD Scholarships are awarded for pursuing development-related postgraduate courses in the areas of Economic Sciences/Business Administration/Political Economics, Development Co-operation, Engineering and related sciences, Mathematics, Regional Planning, Agricultural and Forest Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Public Health/Veterinary Medicine/Medicine, Social Science, Education & Law and Media Studies.
Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue a postgraduate degree at German institutions of Higher education.
Scholarship Provider: BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development)
Scholarship can be taken at: Germany
Eligibility:
-Age limit: No age limit. But the last academic degree should normally not be more than six years old.
-Degree: Bachelor or Master
-GPA: min 2,75 for Master candidates (some study programs applied GPA more than 2,75. Please see the detail on the website of each study program) and 3,00 for Doctoral candidates.
-Work experience: at least two years after completing Bachelor degree.
-Language skill:
-For postgraduate courses held in English request an international TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based) or IELTS (band 6). Some courses may expect a different level. For detailed information see the website of the relevant course.
-For postgraduate courses held in German: please see the details on the course list. A certain level of German language exam may be required before admission to the course.

Scholarship Description: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst – supports a range of postgraduate courses at German universities which aim at providing academically educated young professionals from Developing Countries with further specialized studies. The DAAD supports these selected programs with a certain quota of scholarships and with financial assistance for a special tutoring system. At the end of the course (programs run 12 to 36 months, depending on the particular institution) participants can obtain an internationally recognized Master’s or in some courses PhD degree.

What does it cover? The DAAD pays a monthly scholarship installment, currently set at EUR 750.00. In addition, the scholarship includes costs for health, accident and liability insurance in Germany and an adequate travelling allowance, in so far as the home country or another donor is not already covering these expenses. Furthermore, the DAAD pays an annual research grant. However, the universities might charge additional fees not covered by the scholarship (e.g., enrollment fee, semester ticket, etc).
Selection Criteria: Selection criteria and procedures for DAAD Scholarships for Developing Countries recipients ensure that:
-target candidates have proven, development-related motivation and can be expected to make full use of their scholarship and education by taking on social responsibility later in their careers, acting as agents of change who stimulate and support development in their personal and professional surroundings ( motivation, commitment to development),
-candidates have the professional and academic qualifications Necessary to Ensure successful completion of the degree programs in Germany (final scores on previous academic examinations, language skills),
-women and candidates from disadvantaged groups who meet the required academic and professional standards and show proven commitment to development-related issues are especially targeted for program admission.

How to Apply: Scholarship applicants from developing countries (on the DAC list of OECDs) can send their applications (under consideration of the various submission deadlines) only directly to the eligible institutions. Applications from Cameroon, Myanmar, and Nigeria MUST be submitted at the German embassy. Applicants from the People’s Republic of China are requested to include the APS Certificate as well as two address labels in their national language along with their other application documents.
Please note: Please be sure to address applications to the postgraduate course directly! Applications sent via e-mail to the DAAD cannot be considered during the selection process. Applicants are asked to state whether they are able to pay for cost of living expenses and their studies in Germany themselves or whether they can only complete the postgraduate course with financial support from a DAAD scholarship. Qualified applicants for whom self-financing is possible, have a good chance of being accepted by a postgraduate course. Scholarships cannot be awarded without the official DAAD application form. Many courses, however, have their own forms, which must be submitted in addition to the DAAD application form (see details under course description).

-Proof of language abilities: English–IELTS or TOEFL (Note: Institutional TOEFL will not be accepted); German – necessary for the courses taught in German; for the courses taught in English, if available
