A HAPPY BEGINNING.

Ref: 3rd October, 2026.

The Federal Polytechnic Community, led by the Rector, Dr Ashinya Tyover, witnessed the solemnization of holy matrimony of their own, Mr Fred Ajiga and Blessing, who tied the forever knot at the Living Faith Church, Wurukum, Makurdi.

The reception held at the New Castle event centre, New GRA, Makurdi.

Other principal staff of the institution; Mr Olusegun Joseph - Registrar, the Bursar, Mr James Nongo CNA and the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs Dinnah Innocent equally graced the event.

The roll call was dominated by the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune staff who complimented the beauty and success of the occasion.

Testimonies of Fred's humble life and resilience were loudly lauded by guests, friends and well wishers.

We thank God for the new home.

FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC WANNUNE
ACADEMIC BOARD MEETING: ISSUES AND RESOLUTIONS
Ref: 2nd October, 2026

The Academic Board of Federal Polytechnic Wannune, at its emergency meeting on 2nd October 2026, deliberated on key issues affecting the institution and resolved as follows:

1. Students’ Performance: The Board reaffirmed strict adherence to fair and credible standards of teaching, learning and students’ assessment.

2. Examination Misconduct: Following a report on the assault of an invigilating lecturer, Mr. Soom Philip Iorver, by an ND I SLT student, Miss Andiir Ngodoo Ruth, the Board upheld the recommendations of the Examination Ethics Committee and expelled the student for gross misconduct.

3. Commendation: The Board ratified Management’s reward of ₦500,000, one additional placement step and a Commendation Letter to Mr. Soom for his professionalism and restraint during the incident.

4. Invigilation Duties: The Board expressed concern over lecturers who failed to perform assigned examination duties and resolved to refer the matter to the Governing Council for appropriate action.

5. International Conference: The Board appreciated Management’s support for staff development and urged participants attending the international conference in Cameroon to represent the Polytechnic as good ambassadors.

In his closing remarks, the Rector, Dr. Ashinya Tyover, appreciated members for their contributions and reaffirmed Management’s commitment to rewarding hard work while addressing poor performance and indiscipline.

ATTENTION PLEASE!!!

Dear Colleagues,

The Management of Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Benue State, under the leadership of Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, today been Thursday 21 May,2026 held an extensive meeting with both ASUP and NASU and expressed serious concern over the poor turnout of Staff for the ongoing physical verification exercise being conducted by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation.

Management emphasized the need for this information to be circulated to every unit, department, and section of the institution so that all Staff will be adequately informed about the exercise.

It was further stated that only Staff who successfully undergo the physical screening and verification exercise will be recognized as genuine Staff of the institution.

Consequently, any staff who fails to participate in the physical verification exercise may not be recognized by the Federal Government, and such staff risk suspension of salary payment.

In view of the above, all staff currently on the payroll are strongly advised to make themselves available for the exercise before the closing date, which remains Friday, 22nd May, 2026.

SUBJECT: OBSERVANCE OF WORKERS’ DAY (MAY DAY) 2026

This is to inform all members of the Polytechnic community that the Federal Government has declared Friday, May 1st, 2026, as a public holiday to mark this year's International Workers' Day.

In compliance with this directive, the Polytechnic will close all administrative and academic activities for the day.

Normal activities will resume on Monday, May 4th, 2026.

All staff on essential duties are exempted from the holiday and are expected to remain at their posts.

The Rector, Dr Tyover Ashinya and the Management wishes all staff and students a restful celebration and a Happy Workers' Day.

CHRONICLES OF AN ACADEMIC CARNIVAL: FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC WANNUNE'S FOURTH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Benue State, successfully held its Fourth Matriculation Ceremony, formally admitting 2,505 students into various ND and HND programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Rector, Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, welcomed the new students and expressed satisfaction with the institution’s rapid academic and infrastructural growth. He appreciated President Ahmed Tinubu, the SGF Senator George Akume, TETFund, JAMB, NBTE, NYSC, the Tarka Traditional Council, and other partners for their continued support.
He encouraged the matriculating students to remain focused and justify the investments of their parents while commending staff and the Governing Council, led by Chief Michael Msuaan, for their dedication to institutional development. The Rector also revealed that the Polytechnic ranked 5th nationally in admission applications for the 2026/2027 session.
Highlights of the ceremony included the administration of the Oath of Allegiance, goodwill messages, and colourful cultural performances by various dance troupes.
Congratulations to the Rector, management, staff, and the newly matriculated students.

DR ASHINYA COMMISSIONS STUDENTS RELAXATION PARKS AND GARDENS.

Charges students on appropriate use.

The Wannune Federal Polytechnic's chief servant, Dr Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, today 22nd April, 2026, cut the tape, officially, commissioning the multi-capacity Students Parks and Gardens, South wing of the institution's permanent Campus, Wannune.

Rendering the pre-commissioning remark, the Rector appreciated the Students Union leadership under Comrade Mzahan Solomon for the huge sacrifice and commitment to result oriented and exemplary leadership, as seen in the judicious utilisation of the students dues.
He describes the achievement as a magnanimous trajectory, mirroing the good leadership training, gotten from the school.
He said, the institution would continue to support the initiative, as it would provide avenues for relaxation, interaction and fruitful social engagements in addition to the numerous students Union platforms.

He commended the Students Affairs Dean, Chief Tyough Samuel for the fatherly guidance, which had manifested via such a maiden students relaxation project.

He charged the students to deploy the park to good use, as to promote quality social experience on the beautiful campus of the Polytechnic.

GENERAL CIRCULAR.

TO: All Staff and Students

Public Holiday – Friday, 3rd and Monday 6th April, 2026.

The Federal Government has declared Friday, 3rd and Monday 6th April, 2026, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

In view of the above, the Management of Federal Polytechnic Wannune wishes to inform all staff and students that,
except for staff on essential services, all academic and administrative activities in the Polytechnic shall be suspended for the two days.

Normal work and academic schedules will resume on Tuesday, 7th April, 2026.

The Rector, Dr Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, on behalf of the Management wishes the entire Polytechnic community a spirit filled celebration.
