Today I will be using finger movements in various forms to simulate the neural pathways for my learners with cerebral palsy.
Finger movement is closely linked to brain development because of the motor cortex—the part of the brain that controls voluntary movement. When children actively move their fingers (grasping, pinching, pointing), they stimulate this area, strengthening brain connections and improving coordination.
The inability or difficulty in moving fingers may indicate weaker communication between the brain and muscles. This doesn’t mean low intelligence, but it can reflect challenges in motor planning, coordination, and sometimes slower processing in certain brain areas.

The pride I feel right now is like that of a mother seating in the car and watching her child weave through the traffic like a pro.
I remember when I told you I needed to make a trip and I wouldn’t be able to monitor happenings in school and you said “Boss go, you have taught us well”
