ADIAHA OBONG SECONDARY COMMERCIAL SCHOOL CELEBRATES HER OWN β€” DEBORAH MOSES( Dherby Stylevantage )! β€οΈπŸ’™

There are moments that make an alma mater pause and say with immense pride:

β€œSHE MADE US PROUD!” πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

We proudly celebrate Deborah Moses, a former student of Adiaha Obong Secondary Commercial School, for an exceptional display of confidence, critical thinking and leadership at a major programme organised by United Bank for Africa (UBA).

In a room filled with distinguished personalities and participants, Deborah did more than simply speak.

🎀 She identified a problem.
πŸ’‘ She offered a solution.
πŸ—£οΈ She confidently communicated her observation and perspective.

And then came the moment that truly made us proud.

Her contribution caught the attention of Tony Elumelu, Chairman of UBA, who personally called Deborah out from among the participants, gave her a warm and encouraging embrace, and appreciated her contribution, describing her input as β€œoutstanding.” πŸ‘πŸ”₯

What a moment!

For us at Adiaha Obong Secondary Commercial School, this is bigger than an appearance at a prestigious event.

It is a demonstration of what we want to see in the young people we nurture:

πŸ’™ WE WON HEARTS, THOUGH NOT THE COMPETITION πŸ’™

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded us that success is not always measured by trophies and titles.

Our very own Blossom Victor Ekere stepped onto the stage of the Uyo Crunchies Spelling Bee with confidence and brilliance. She blazed through Round One, correctly spelling every word that came her way (five words to be precised) and securing a place among the finalists.

As the competition intensified and only four contestants were to be selected, Blossom was given two words that would have secured her place among the final four. Unfortunately, she could not spell them correctly. The silence that followed was almost unbelievable. The audience was stunned. Many had already seen her as a strong contender for the crown.

What happened next told a greater story than any trophy could tell.

Tears rolled down faces. The Reverend Sisters from Notre Dame consoled her. Her mother, who was present, stood by her. Even members of the audience, including an NTA media personnel, expressed their admiration and sympathy. Such was the impact of her performance and character.

Blossom eventually finished tied for fifth position alongside another outstanding contestant from Teeves School.

While we feel the pronouncer did not do her justice, we choose to thank God for the experience, the lessons, and the memories.

We are also proud that the Adisco Brass Band was on ground to render the National Anthem and Akwa Ibom State Anthem, adding colour and dignity to the occasion.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to Crunchies Fried Chicken for organizing an excellent and memorable spelling competition. The Uyo Crunchies Spelling Bee was indeed well coordinated and impactful.

We are delighted that Blossom's remarkable performance earned:

βœ… ₦50,000 for herself

βœ… ₦50,000 for Adiaha Obong Secondary School

βœ… ₦20,000 for her teacher

Though we did not win the competition, we won something equally precious, the hearts and admiration of everyone who witnessed courage, excellence, and grace under pressure.

To Blossom, we are proud of you. Your story did not end on that stage. It only began.

To God be all the glory.

From making the Purple Tie Foundation Programme 2026 truly beautiful with our soul lifting melodies and captivating performances, the Adisco All Girls Brass Band has continued to prove that excellence has a sound and Adisco Girls carry it with pride.

Last month at the Purple Tie Foundation event, we were not just performers; we became the life of the celebration, adding colour, class, energy, and unforgettable musical moments that made the programme a memorable success.

Once again, the excellence of the band earned us another special invitation to grace the ceremony of the Imo Development Association Women Wing in Akwa Ibom State, where the distinguished Lolo Christiana Ogechi was honoured with an award and title. And true to who we are, we did not just attend; we gave the event a beautiful atmosphere, thrilled the audience, and made the day worth remembering for the entire Igbo community present.

Adisco Girls do not merely appear at events. They leave footprints of excellence and create history with every performance.

Adiaha Obong Secondary Commercial School proudly attended the 76th Anniversary Ceremony of Cornelia Connelly College, popularly known as CCC, and emerged victorious in yet another debate competition.

Speaking against the motion:
β€œShould the Government of Developing Economies Prioritize Vocational Training Over University Education for Girls?”

our brilliant girls rose to the challenge with confidence, intelligence, and outstanding eloquence.
Honestly, we did not expect to debate against two schools on the same day, but the team delivered excellently, defeating both CCC and Federal Government Girls College, Ukana to claim victory and a cash prize of ₦30,000 for each student in the debate team.

Special commendation to our exceptional speakers:

✨ Blessing Ukem
✨ Unwanabasi Obot

The trio did absolute justice to the task and represented ADISCO with pride and brilliance.
Our amiable Principal, Mrs. Theresa Essien-Ibanga, an old girl of CCC herself, was present, delighted, and excited to witness ADISCO emerge victorious on such a memorable occasion.

Once again, ADISCO has proven that excellence, confidence, and dignity remain our watchwords.
