🌿 Personal Meditation on Ephesians 6:18
“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” — Ephesians 6:18 (ESV)
This verse reminds me that prayer should not only be something I do when I have a problem; it should become the atmosphere in which I live.
“Praying at all times…” — I need to develop a lifestyle of prayer.
I don't want prayer to be my last resort when things become difficult. I want God to be involved in my decisions, plans, work, relationships, family and future.
“In the Spirit…” — I cannot depend only on my own understanding.
There will be situations where I won't know what to say or what decision to make. I need to learn to depend on the Holy Spirit for guidance, wisdom and discernment.
“With all prayer and supplication…” — I should bring everything to God.
Nothing concerning my life is too insignificant to pray about. My dreams, responsibilities, finances, work, family, challenges and desires can all be brought before God.
“Keep alert…” — I must pay attention spiritually.
I should not live carelessly or become so occupied with everyday responsibilities that I stop noticing what is happening around me spiritually and emotionally. I need discernment.
“With all perseverance…” — I must learn not to give up.
Some prayers will not receive immediate answers. This verse challenges me to remain consistent even when I don't see results immediately. Delay is not necessarily denial.
“Making supplication for all the saints…” — My prayers should not be only about me.
God wants me to carry other people in prayer. I should remember my family, friends, church, colleagues, leaders and people who may be silently struggling.
Prayer keeps me dependent on God.
I may have abilities, experience, plans and ambitions, but I don't want to build my life on my strength alone. Prayer reminds me that God is my source and I need His direction.

Lord, help me to become a woman who prays consistently, not occasionally; who watches carefully, not carelessly; who perseveres, not gives up; and who remembers others, not just herself. 🙏
