VC AND MANAGEMENT CONDOLES PROFESSOR OKONOFUA'S FAMILY.

On Monday, November 14,2022, The Vice-Chancellor, University of Uyo, Uyo, Professor Nyaudoh U. Ndaeyo, led his Management Team to condole the family of Late Professor Anthony Okonofua.

Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, while expressing his heart felt condolences urged the entire family to be consoled in the Lord.
When the information of the sudden demise of Professor Okonofua came to me , I was speechless, but believing strongly in the word of God, only Him knows everything under the earth. He charged the family that Professor Okonofua will be missed greatly in the University of Uyo because of his positive contributions.
Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, prayed for God to console and comfort the family,grant the departed soul eternal rest.

Professor Okonofua was the immediate past Director of Late Prof Stella Idiong Art Gallery at the University of Uyo permanent campus.

Responding, Gregory Okonofua, the Son, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his team for the condolence visit,stating that it shows the love the University Management has for the family. He appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the Acting Registrar for their prompt response to him whenever he called on them and prayed God to bless the entire management of the University of Uyo.

Prayers were offered by the Director of Works,Engr. Otoabasi Ansa, for the Family while the Bursar, Dr Imoh Markson,prayed for a hitch free funeral ceremonies and journey mercies.

Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo,Vice-Chancellor,
later signed the condolence register.

Tuesday November 15,2022, the University of Uyo held Mock Senate and commendation service in his honor .

UNIUYO Class of 98 Honours Former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fola Lasisi

The Class of 98, Business Alumni Association of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has honoured the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Fola Lasisi during its first Reunion 2022/Unveiling of Project, tagged: "Reuniting to Empower". The event took place on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at De-Castle Hotel Annex, Uyo.

While presenting the welcome address, the President of Class of 98, Business Alumni Association, Mrs. Mmayen Edward appreciated God for giving the Association another opportunity to reunite. She stated that when they graduated there was no mobile phones or Student's Directory for future contact but today, they have been able to search through the nooks and crannies of the country and diaspora to reunite with 94 graduates of Faculty of Business Administration.

According to her, "Having united this reasonable number of Class of 98 Graduates and still searching, we decided to organize our first reunion with the theme: "Reunion to Empower" to partner with our national executive of UNIUYO Alumni Association and the University Management to continue in the rebranding of our alma mater, University of Uyo".

Mrs. Edward stated further that the goal of the Association is in the future with the aimed of bridging the gap which existed. She specifically thanked exco members of the Association for their dedication and selfless efforts in searching for other colleagues.

The Dean, Faculty of Business Administration who also chaired the event, Prof. Isaac Ayandele in his address thanked the past and present Vice-Chancellors of the University for their dynamic, pragmatic and energetic services they have rendered in the University which have kept the University of Uyo on top in the comity of universities.

He again thanked the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo for his leadership prowess in the University of Uyo . Prof. Ayandele also commended the Class of 98 for coming together to give back to their alma mater and also honour the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fola Lasisi.

The Dean of Faculty of Business Administration hinted further that the reunion of the Class of 98, Business Alumni Association will serve as a challenge to other graduates of the University to reunite. He disclosed that proposal for commencement of UNIUYO Business School from Faculty of Business Administration will soon get to the Vice-Chancellor for approval.

The guest of honour, Prof. Fola Lasisi who was ably represented by Prof. Des Wilson in his address appreciated the Class of 98 for coming together to honour the former Vice-Chancellor, saying that, they have set a path for other alumni of the University to follow as they will be remembered for they have done.

He described Prof. Fola Lasisi as a father who fathered many students and staff of the University of Uyo during his tenure (1991-2000). He also said that Pof. Lasisi was his mentor who supported him so much when he was the Chairman of ASUU and Dean of Student Affairs.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo in his comments thanked God for reuniting the Class of 98, Business Alumni Association, adding that, he was delighted to see that graduates of the Faculty are doing very well in their chosen field endeavours.

He also appreciated them for coming together to honour the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fola Lasisi and also reunited for the betterment of the University of Uyo. The Vice-Chancellor applauded the President of the Association, Mrs. Mmayen Edward for organizing such epoch event, adding that, he was so impressed with the theme of the meeting.

Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo urged the Association not to allow the event to be a mere outing event but they should push ahead in reuniting more alumni. The Vice-Chancellor also promised that the University Management is ready to partner with the Association, assuring that, the Faculty of Business Administration will soon be moved to permanent site.
He prayed God to uphold and strengthen all the members of the association to enable them put up structures on campus.

UNIVERSITY OF UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE SIGNS MOU WITH NATIONAL INSURANCE COMMISSION, ABUJA

The management of University of Uyo, led the VC, Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and the National Insurance Commission at Abuja for the construction of a proposed building for the Department of Insurance and Risk Management, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Uyo
The National Insurance Commission Team was led by Mr O.S. Thomas.
