No less than a hundred entrepreneurs were today certified and awarded prizes after weeks of training in the Akwa Ibom State Government flagship entrepreneurship education programme tagged "My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme" (MEGP). The trainees, numbering about 100 who were awarded certificates and other prizes in a colourful ceremony, Friday, 30th December, 2022 were highly elated and full of praises to the State Government for the MEGP initiative.

In a remark sent to the event, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel said the state Government's investments in human capacity development were deliberate and well targeted. Governor Emmanuel who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr Ime Uwah urged the participants to justify the Government's investments in the programme by applying skills learnt at the programme to their businesses, so as to better their lots. Speaking further, the state Governor said the Business Strategy Simulation game introduced in the 7th batch of the MEGP was a laudable initiative, stressing that skills used in the navigating the game can be applied to real life business scenarios. The State Governor announced a donation of twenty thousand naira (20, 000NGN) to all participants in the competition, apart from the winning group who will receive two million naira (2,000,000 NGN) courtesy of the state Government.

Earlier in their separate remarks, SA to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana, State SMEDAN coordinator, Lucy Ekpenyong, MEGP Project supervisor, Brian Ekwere thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for initiating and sustaining the MEGP initiative. They sued for sustainability of the programme even beyond the Udom Emmanuel administration.
