WHY YOU'RE STILL STRUGGLING WITH ENGLISH (IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT — BUT HERE'S THE FIX)

Most people study English for years and still feel stuck.
The reason is almost always one of these two things.

PROBLEM 1: WEAK VOCABULARY

You cannot express what you don't have words for.

Vocabulary is your raw material. The more words you own — and own means you know them, understand them, and can use them correctly — the more powerful your English becomes.

Without vocabulary, even good grammar cannot save you. You'll pause mid-sentence. You'll use the wrong word. You'll sound unsure.

The fix: Learn new words daily. Don't just memorise them — use them.

PROBLEM 2: NOT KNOWING WHAT WORDS DO

This is the deeper problem.

Every English word belongs to a CLASS — noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and so on. And every class has a FUNCTION — the job it performs inside a sentence.

When you don't know this, you misplace words. You use a noun where a verb should be. You use an adjective where an adverb belongs. The sentence breaks — and you don't even know why.

The fix: Don't just learn a word. Learn what it IS and what it DOES.

EXAMPLE

Take the word QUICK.

Meaning — fast, without delay
Class — Adjective
Function — it describes a noun

She made a quick decision. ✓
She acted quick. ✗ (You need the adverb here: quickly.)

That one distinction — class and function — changes everything.

Most people get this wrong — not because they're careless, but because nobody broke it down properly.

The Simple Rule

➤ Use HAS with a singular subject.
➤ Use HAVE with a plural subject.

That's it. But let's go deeper.

What Are HAS and HAVE?

They are auxiliary verbs — also called helping verbs. They don't work alone. They team up with a main verb to form what we call the perfect tense.

What Is the Perfect Tense?

The perfect tense is used when you want to report or express an action **that has already been completed** before the moment of speaking or writing.

Think of it this way: the action is *done*. You're just reporting it.

Examples with HAS (singular)

✅ She has finished her assignment.
✅ He has eaten already.
✅ The teacher has marked the scripts.

One person. One subject. → HAS.

Examples with HAVE (plural)

✅ They have finished their assignments.
✅ We have eaten already.
✅ The teachers have marked the scripts.

More than one. → HAVE.

Watch Out for This Trap

❌ She have gone. ✗
✅ She has gone. ✓

❌ They has arrived. ✗
✅ They have arrived. ✓

The subject tells you which one to use. Always check the subject first.
