GAVEL GALA

Flashing lights, dazed stares, agape mouths, and bewildered minds, these are the effects your entry should have on us tonight.

Today, beneath the blanket of the star riddled sky, we clink glasses in camaraderie, and toast to the brighter.

Tonight, we watch in amazement as the deserving get awarded for their consistency.

Tonight, we “GALA!”

It's that time of the year again! 💫

The Faculty of Law, University of Uyo, warmly celebrates the birthday of our Distinguished Dean, Professor Uwem Udok.

Your dedication, wisdom, and commitment to excellence speak for themselves. You have long been a valued part of this Faculty as a scholar, a mentor, and now as our Dean, nurturing minds, raising standards, and holding the torch of academic excellence with steady hands.

Today, we celebrate not just the man, but the mission he carries, which is to produce lawyers who are grounded in principle and ready for purpose.

From every lecturer, every staff member, and every corridor of this Faculty, Happy Birthday, Sir. May this year bring you strength and great joy.

"And He Arose, and Rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be Still. And the Wind Ceased, and there was a Great Calm." — Matthew 8:26

Between the heavy case laws, endless readings, and the pressure of exams, it is very easy to feel overwhelmed.

Today, we are taking a break from the books to find our "great calm." Join us as we commit this session into God's hands and start on a foundation of grace.

Theme: The Storm is Over (Matthew 8:23-27)
Ministering: Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong
Date: Friday, 23rd Jan 2026
Time: 10 AM Prompt

Venue: Multi-purpose Hall, beside the Faculty of Biological Sciences, UNIUYO Main Campus.

Tell a friend to tell a friend. See you there!
