Being a teacher demands a lot of work and dedication.
You have to keep studying and give the very best to learners.
Being a private tutor has it's own challenges as well.
A parent once contracted me to tutor her child on handwriting.
It was challenging, because the learner didn't know how to write the basics.
He always gave me this I-cannot-do-it look. Within a week, he didn't have that look again.
That was my first win.💃
Making him believe in himself.
The next week saw us learning how to write curves, strokes and even dots. Yea, we had to go that basic. I couldn't afford leaving any stone unturned.
In three weeks, I noticed an improvement, but I wasn't convinced.
This was because my client had stated that he's had other teachers and nothing much was achieved.
I made it a point of duty to pray before every class. More like, Jesus, take the pen.
Before the end of the month, my boy was able to write well.
He could differentiate between upper and lower case letters and all the nitty-gritty in writing.
I couldn't believe it came at such a short interval.
And then he said to me one day "Miss Precious, you make these things so simple."
😭Oh my dear!
I went back to the place of prayer, but this time with thanksgiving to the teacher of all teachers.
