Dear young church leaders,

As you embark on your journey of leadership within your faith community, it is crucial to understand and uphold the importance of respecting boundaries. Respecting boundaries means recognizing and honoring the personal space, emotions, and privacy of others. Here's why this is so vital:

By respecting boundaries, you foster a safe and inclusive environment. Ensuring that each individual's personal space and limits are respected, you create an atmosphere where people feel valued, heard, and comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences. This inclusivity helps to build trust and nurture a sense of belonging within your church community.

Don't forget that especting boundaries demonstrates genuine care and empathy towards others. Everyone has their own unique set of experiences, emotions, and personal boundaries. Taking the time to understand and respect these boundaries allows you to provide support and guidance in a way that is sensitive to each individual's needs.

Moreover, respecting boundaries as young church leaders serves as an example to others. By exhibiting this behavior, you inspire and encourage those around you, both young and old, to treat one another with respect and dignity. This creates a ripple effect that promotes a culture of understanding and kindness within your church community.

Remember that respecting boundaries is an ongoing practice that requires open communication and active listening. It's important to be aware of the boundaries you set for yourself as well as those of others, and to adapt your actions accordingly. When in doubt, always seek consent and permission before engaging in conversations or activities that could potentially cross someone's boundaries.

In your role as young church leaders, your commitment to respecting boundaries will not only enrich your own personal growth but also contribute to a flourishing and compassionate faith community. So, lead by example and embrace the values of respect, empathy, and inclusivity in all your interactions.

Blessings on your journey.

Áfàméfùnà
(The Movie)

My friend made sure I watched this movie (thank you for that, it was great).
While watching the movie, I couldn't help but think about the young leaders in our churches and I noticed a sense of insincerity and unspoken lies among them. It's true that some of the leaders we serve under can tell when we are being genuine or when we are being deceptive, but they may choose to stay silent until a certain moment arrives.

Just because an elder is quiet doesn't mean he/she is unaware of what's going on.
To my fellow young church leaders, what is it that encourages you to live a life of insincerity?

Is that really the life you want to live?

For example, buying Two Thousand Naira worth of fuel but only receiving One Thousand Five Hundred Naira worth in return.
These lies may seem insignificant, but they can start to define your actions and become the foundation for everything you do.

A person who is diligent and honest in his or her dealings will always be sought after by the right people, regardless of the circumstances.

Emotional Intelligence

Let's look at the significance of developing emotional intelligence as a young church leader. It is a trait that not only helps you effectively lead and support your congregation/fellowers but also aligns with the teachings of the Bible. Let us delve into a few scriptures that shed light on this important aspect of leadership.

1. Proverbs 16:32 (NIV) says, "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city."

Emotional intelligence allows you to control and manage your emotions, practice patience, and respond to situations with wisdom and discernment. As a young church leader, it is crucial to lead a life that exhibits self-control, for patience and understanding breed unity and growth.

2. Colossians 3:12 (NIV) advises, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."

Emotional intelligence enables you to develop these traits, leading with compassion, kindness, and humility. By displaying empathy and sensitivity towards others' emotions, you create an environment where people feel valued, heard, and loved.

3. James 1:19-20 (NIV) states, "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."

Emotional intelligence allows you to actively listen to others without judgment or interruption. It helps you to bridle your anger, respond thoughtfully, and resolve conflicts effectively. By doing so, you embody the call to righteousness and peace.

4. Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) reminds us of the fruits of the Spirit, saying, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Emotional intelligence enables you to cultivate these fruits, leading with love, joy, peace, kindness, and self-control. By embodying these qualities, you become an inspiring role model for your congregation, fostering a positive and harmonious spiritual community.

As a young church leader, embracing emotional intelligence is essential. The Bible emphasizes the importance of self-control, patience, compassion, kindness, humility, active listening, and gentleness.
These qualities are not only prerequisites for effective leadership but also reflect the character of Christ. By nurturing emotional intelligence, you will create an environment of love, understanding, and growth, allowing your congregation to flourish in their relationship with God and one another.

LET'S LOOK AT BUILDING HEALTHY FRIENDSHIP AS A YOUNG CHURCH LEADER.

As a young church leader, building and sustaining healthy relationships with your followers is crucial in fostering a strong sense of community and trust within your congregation. Here are some tips on how to effectively build and maintain these relationships:

1. Communication is key: Open and transparent communication is essential in any relationship. As a church leader, it is important to be accessible to your followers and to communicate regularly with them. This can include holding regular meetings, sending out emails or newsletters, and being active on social media platforms. By keeping the lines of communication open, you can better understand the needs and concerns of your followers and address them in a timely manner.

2. Be a good listener: In addition to communicating with your followers, it is equally important to actively listen to their thoughts and feelings. Take the time to listen to their feedback, concerns, and ideas, and show empathy and understanding. By actively listening to your followers, you can build trust and create a safe space for open dialogue within your congregation.

3. Lead by example: As a young church leader, it is important to lead by example and to embody the values and principles that you preach to your followers. Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and humility in your actions and decisions, and strive to be a positive role model for your congregation. By leading by example, you can inspire and motivate your followers to live out their faith in a meaningful and authentic way.

4. Foster a sense of community: Building a strong sense of community within your congregation is essential in fostering healthy relationships with your followers. Create opportunities for your followers to come together and connect with one another, such as hosting community events, small group gatherings, or service projects. By fostering a sense of community, you can create a supportive and caring environment where your followers can grow in their faith and relationships with one another.

5. Show appreciation and gratitude: Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions and efforts of your followers, and show gratitude for their support and dedication to the church. Thank them for their service, commitment, and generosity, and celebrate their achievements and milestones. By showing appreciation and gratitude, you can strengthen the bond between you and your followers and create a culture of encouragement and positivity within your congregation.

Building and sustaining healthy relationships with your followers as a young church leader requires time, effort, and dedication. By focusing on communication, listening, leading by example, fostering community, and showing appreciation, you can create a nurturing and supportive environment where your followers can grow in their faith and relationships with one another. OUR SERVICE TO MEN!

Serving others doesn't mean that you are weak or that you do not have value.

Serving others doesn't make you become a fool or a poor individual.

Serving others doesn't mean that you are of a lower class or of less importance.

Many have seeved their way up.
Many have served their breakthroughs out.
Many have served their healing and testimonies without spending a kobo.
Many have been given the privilege of enthronement just a result of service.

When you serve men, you are consciously or unconsciously building a lidar for yourself.

The place of service is a place of training.

It's where you connect and position both your mind and yourself the success you desire tomorrow.

Don't see service to men as being used by people (although some do that).

Keep serving.
Keep building.
Keep connecting.
