Reportage: Missionary Band Service – 3rd Edition, 1st Semester 2026
Ministering: Rev. Udochukwu ORIUWA (A.G.N National Director for Missions)
Topic:Breaking the Barriers from Poor Vision to Missions
Text: John 4:1-9, 27
Rev. ORIUWA delivered a piercing message centered on the power of vision in fulfilling God’s mission mandate. Drawing from Christ’s encounter with the Samaritan woman in John 4, he emphasized that missions begins with seeing as God sees.
*Key Highlights from the Message:*
1. *No man can move beyond his vision*
Rev. ORIUWA stressed that vision sets the boundary for impact. A limited vision produces limited obedience, while a God-given vision propels believers into the nations.
2. *When you live in sin, Satan harvests your vision*
He warned that sin blinds the spiritual eyes and makes believers vulnerable to distraction and discouragement, causing them to lose sight of the mission field.
3. *A man with anointing and no vision is a dead man*
Anointing without direction leads to wasted potential. The speaker urged the congregation to seek clarity of purpose so that their gifts and calling are channeled into missions.
4. *If you refuse the voice of God to go into missions, He will choose another*
Using the urgency in John 4:27, he reminded everyone that God’s plan for the lost will not wait. Disobedience disqualifies us, but does not stop the mission.
The service ended with an altar call for rededication to missions, and many responded to go, pray, and give toward the spread of the gospel.
*Closing Charge:*
Rev. ORIUWA charged the congregation to break every barrier of poor vision, complacency, and fear, and to arise as carriers of the gospel in this season.

*Students Encounter Revival as Rev. Dr. Favour Nne Asonye-Okorafor Preaches “Back to Pentecost” at Campus Chapel AGDSN*
*AGDSN* – The atmosphere in the Campus Chapel of the Assemblies of God Divinity School of Nigeria Old Umuahia shifted from routine to reverent as students gathered for a stirring service centered on the theme _“Back to Pentecost”_. The message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Favour Nne Asonye-Okorafor, who anchored her exhortation in *Acts 2:4, 37, 39, 48-49; Jeremiah 1:5; and Mark 16:16-18*.
The service became more than a lecture on history. It became a call to identity, consecration, and renewed encounter with the Holy Spirit.
1. Reclaiming the Pentecostal Heritage
Rev. Dr. Asonye-Okorafor began by walking the students through the historical roots of Pentecostalism and the Assemblies of God. She credited pioneers like *William Seymour, John G. Lake, and John Knots* as generals God used to ignite global revival in the early 20th century.
She emphasized that the Assemblies of God has no single founder but was raised up through a collective of founding fathers moved by the Holy Ghost. That divine spark, she said, produced a fire of revival that crossed continents and laid a solid foundation for the church in Nigeria. She described the Nigerian Assemblies of God as “the mother of Pentecostalism” in the nation, a movement birthed not by human strategy but by prayer, consecration, and the outpouring of the Spirit.
2. The Eagle Illustration: Discovering True Identity
To drive home the point of spiritual awakening, she told the story of an eagle hatched and raised among chicks. For years, the eagle scratched the ground, ate feed, and behaved like a chick, unaware of its true nature. The turning point came when it realized what it was—an eagle. It spread its wings, mounted up, and began to function in the reality for which it was created.
“The church today is full of eagles behaving like chicks,” she told the students. “You’ve been born of the Spirit, but you’re living on the level of the flesh. Back to Pentecost means remembering who you are and rising to function in the power and purpose God gave you.”
She tied this to *Jeremiah 1:5*, reminding the students that God knew and set them apart before birth, and to *Acts 2:39*, which declares that the promise of the Spirit is for all whom the Lord calls.
3. The Non-Negotiables of Revival Fire
Moving from history to practice, Rev. Dr. Asonye-Okorafor outlined the secrets that sustained the revival carried by past generals of God. She identified three pillars:
1. *Holiness* – A life set apart, free from compromise, because God’s power rests on clean vessels.
2. *Honesty* – Integrity before God and man, without which spiritual authority erodes.
3. *Long, passionate prayer* – The kind of prayer that marked William Seymour’s Azusa Street revival and the ministries of John G. Lake and John Knots.
“Revival is not sustained by programs,” she said. “It is sustained by men and women who are willing to tarry until the fire falls and stay in the fire until it spreads.”
She referenced *Mark 16:16-18* to show that the signs following the believer are not optional extras but the natural outflow of a life baptized in the Spirit and sent on mission.
4. Pentecostalism’s Global Impact and the Call to Participate
Rev. Dr. Asonye-Okorafor noted that Pentecostalism is currently the fastest-growing religious movement in the world. She attributed this growth to the miracles, deliverances, and transformed lives that have followed Spirit-filled believers who refused to settle for form without power.
She challenged the students not to be spectators of history but participants. “The same Spirit that fell on 120 in the upper room is available today. Acts 2:4 is not a museum piece. It’s a pattern for the church.”
5. Altar Call: A Fresh Outpouring
As the message closed, the presence of God became tangible. Students responded en masse to the altar call, many weeping, praying, and rededicating their lives. There was a clear sense that the word had stirred a hunger for a genuine, unmanufactured encounter with the Holy Spirit.
Leaders on ground described the moment as “a spark of revival” among the student body, with many leaving the chapel committed to personal prayer, holiness, and evangelism.
*Closing Charge*
“Back to Pentecost is not about going backward,” Rev. Dr. Asonye-Okorafor said. “It’s about returning to the source so we can move forward in power. The world is waiting for a church that looks like Acts 2. Will you be that church?”

*SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS DAY 2 – MORNING SESSION*
*Topic: God Has Opened Your Closed Doors*
*Texts:* Revelation 3:7-8; Isaiah 22:22; Acts 12:7-10; Acts 16:25-26
*Speaker:* Rev. Prof. Alozie Anyim
The morning session of Day 2 of the Spiritual Emphasis 1st Semester 2026 Edition was marked by a powerful ministration on divine open doors. Speaking under the topic _“God Has Opened Your Closed Doors,”_ Rev. Prof. Alozie Anyim declared that no situation is too locked for God to intervene.
Anchoring his message on Revelation 3:7-8, the speaker reminded the congregation that Christ holds the key of David and that what He opens, no man can shut, and what He shuts, no man can open. He referenced Isaiah 22:22 to affirm that the authority to open and close belongs to God alone.
Drawing from Acts 12:7-10, he illustrated how God opened the prison doors for Peter through an angel, and from Acts 16:25-26, how Paul and Silas experienced a supernatural breakthrough through prayer and praise. He emphasized that God’s methods transcend human logic and expectation.
*Things That Can Resist Our Blessings:*
Rev. Prof. Anyim outlined hindrances that can keep doors shut:
1. *Fear* – Fear paralyzes faith and invites delay.
2. *Stubbornness* – A hardened heart resists God’s direction.
3. *Stinginess* – A closed hand toward God and others can block the flow of blessing.
*Things That Can Open Locked Doors:*
He then pointed to the keys believers can use:
1. *Fervent Prayer* – God operates beyond human methods. He can use anything to settle a situation when His people pray earnestly.
2. *Songs of Praise* – Worship and praise create an atmosphere for divine intervention, as seen with Paul and Silas.
3. *Faith* – Faith is essential. It moves God to act and opens doors that natural effort cannot.
The speaker concluded with a strong assurance: _“We serve a God who can answer prayer anytime, anyhow, and any day. He can open doors that will mesmerize our thinking. He can bulldoze doors on our behalf.”_
The session ended with fervent prayers as the congregation laid hold on God’s promise for open doors in every area of life.
