BREAKING: FG Declares Free Technical Education Nationwide No Fees, No Hidden Charges
In a landmark move, the Federal Government has declared technical education completely free in all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) across Nigeria.
Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, made the announcement in Abuja, stressing that the government will cover all costs in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโs Renewed Hope Agenda.
The free package goes far beyond tuition it includes boarding, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus, ID cards, stationery, medical services, vocational charges, utilities, security, digital learning tools, extra lessons, and even insurance.
According to Alausa, the move is to guarantee equal access to education and remove financial barriers for Nigerian students.

The Federal Government has boosted scholarship grants at all educational levels through a revamped National Scholarship Programme, in line with President Tinubuโs Renewed Hope Agenda.
Key highlights:
PhD: โฆ750,000 per year
Masterโs: โฆ600,000 per year
Undergraduate/HND/NCE: โฆ450,000 per year
Additionally, โฆ1 billion has been allocated each for STEMM & vocational students and medical & allied health students.
More than 15,000 students are expected to benefit during the 2025โ2026 academic year, with a renewed emphasis on inclusivity and merit-based access.
