Parents Gather round,
I recently heard some schools don't have a forum or platform for conversations with parents, if this is true then it's a major red flag.
Education has long moved from school and learner to parent school partnership. Any school that doesn't allow for parents involvement and partnership, is doing something wrong.
School owners, allow parents to communicate with you. Allow them to speak up so you know how to serve their children better.
Parents flee from a school that doesn't support Parent school Partnership, you should be actively involved in the classroom, that's how learning is wholesome and holistic.
I come in peace ✌️✌️

AI is not trying to take your job. The Internet exists to make your life easier not to compete with you. It's old school to ask your learner to copy their textbooks into their notebooks.

Check Your Child’s School work daily
There's a major concern in every school and that's often the case of undone home tasks, communication notes not responded to and backlogs of projects not to mention missing books at home and this is often the case of children with unbothered parents.
Quality education doesn't start and end with paying school fees and buying books, that is actually the first step to it, there are lots of other things to be done One of which is checking school work daily.
Dear Parents, normalize checking school works daily. This is one of the most powerful ways to support your child.
Children need more than just sending them to school — they need follow-up, encouragement, and guidance at home.
When you check schoolwork daily, you:
-Show your child that learning is important to you
-Help them stay organized and responsible
-Spot struggles early before they become bigger problems
-Encourage good study habits and discipline
-Build confidence as they see your interest in their progress
Some of the practical Ways to Do This:
-Look through their notes and assignments daily
-Ask questions about what they learned in class
-Celebrate effort, not just correct answers
-Offer gentle corrections and support
-Stay in touch with the teacher when needed
-Respond to communication notes from the school or teachers
Remember: A child who feels supported at home will always thrive better in school.
Check schoolwork daily. it’s a small step with a big impact!

Parenting Tip for a Successful Term
As a teacher one of the challenges I had to face was dealing with children tantrums every morning. Most learners come to school looking exhausted, sleepy and not ready for the day's activities. This in turn leaves them angry, aggressive and by extension affects their learning and involvement in school activities.
This is why as an educator in constant communication with parents, I advocate for maintaining routines at home. Routines are not just for school only, routines helps everyone irrespective of age and environment.
One of the most intentional steps you can take to help your child this term is staying consistent with routines.
Children thrive on structure. When they know what to expect and when to expect it, they feel safe, focused, and prepared for learning.
A good routine helps your child:
* Sleep better and wake up refreshed
* Stay organized with schoolwork
* Build discipline and self-control
* Reduce stress and anxiety
* Develop lifelong healthy habits
Simple routines to prioritize:
* Regular bedtime & wake-up times
* Morning prep (uniforms, breakfast, packing bags)
* Daily homework/study time
* Reading before bed
* Limited screen time
This term, let’s be intentional.
Create routines that support your child’s learning, growth, and well-being and stick to them. This requires patience and discipline but it is achievable
Together, we can raise children who thrive.

Happy Resumption, Dear Parents!
As we begin the 2025/2026 Academic Session, we celebrate your children’s opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. But remember, education is a partnership, and parents play a powerful role in shaping a child’s success.
This session, let’s do things differently. Let’s be more intentional, more responsible, and more involved in our children’s learning journey.
You can't afford to stick to status quo and expect a change. Maybe it's time to appraise and review your effort and make the necessary changes. You really don't have to wait till the end of term or the open day to come rant and pour out your disappointment.
Tiny steps and intentional changes can even ensure a good turn in your child's academics without you having to yell or stress your self.
For the next 7days, I'll make a post daily on things you should intentionally work if you want to see progress in your child’s learning.
Again welcome to a new session. The Growth Lounge is here to serve you and make learning easy and fun
