OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ON SECURITY AND SAFETY ARRANGEMENTS FOR SRC-FUEZ ANNUAL CULTURAL CARNIVAL
To the Entire FUE Zaria Student Community, Non-Students, Invited Guests and the General Public
The Office of the President, Students' Representative Council (SRC), Federal University of Education, Zaria, in conjunction with the SRC-FUEZ Cultural Carnival Committee, wishes to inform all students, staff, invited guests, participants and members of the general public that, following a discussion with the Directorate of Security Services, Federal University of Education, Zaria, the following security and safety guidelines have been established for the SRC-FUEZ Annual Cultural Carnival.
The measures are aimed at ensuring a peaceful, orderly, safe and successful celebration.
1. COMMENCEMENT OF THE CARNIVAL
The Cultural Carnival is scheduled to commence at 12:00 noon on Monday, 24th August, 2026.
All participants and visitors are therefore advised to arrive early and comply fully with the security arrangements put in place by the University authorities.
2. ENTRY OF HORSES
All registered horse riders are hereby informed that horses will be permitted to enter the University premises strictly through the Small Gate.
No horse will be permitted to enter through the Main Gate of the University.
Horse riders are expected to comply with all instructions given by security personnel.
3. MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES
All persons arriving with motor vehicles, whether staff, students, invited guests or members of the general public, must enter and exit the University through the Main Gate.
No motor vehicle will be permitted to enter or exit through the Small Gate.
All motorists are required to cooperate with security personnel and follow designated access arrangements.
4. FUE ZARIA STUDENTS
All students of the Federal University of Education, Zaria are required to come along with a valid means of identifying their studentship, particularly their University Identity Card or any other valid document recognized by the University for identification purposes.
No FUE Zaria student will be permitted to enter the University premises without valid proof of studentship.
5. STUDENTS FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS
Students who are not students of the Federal University of Education, Zaria are required to come along with a valid Student Identity Card or other recognized means of identification from their respective institutions.
This applies to students of recognized institutions within Kaduna State and other parts of Nigeria.
No external student will be permitted to enter the University without presenting valid student identification.
6. GENERAL PUBLIC, BUSINESS OWNERS AND MEDIA PRACTITIONERS
Members of the general public who are neither students of FUE Zaria nor students of another recognized institution, including business owners, videographers, photographers and other visitors, are required to present a valid means of identification before being granted access to the University.
Acceptable identification includes a National Identity Card, Voterโs Card or other valid government-recognized identification document.
No person in this category will be permitted to enter the University without valid identification, regardless of their status or position.
7. UNIVERSITY GATES
All members of the University community and visitors are hereby informed that all other University gates will be closed by 12:00 noon on Monday, 24th August, 2026, except the:
- MAIN GATE
- SMALL GATE
These two gates will remain the designated access points for the duration of the security arrangement.
8. COMPLIANCE WITH SECURITY DIRECTIVES
All students, non-students, invited guests and members of the general public are strongly advised to remain law-abiding and respectful of the security conditions established by the Directorate of Security Services, FUE Zaria.
Everyone is expected to cooperate with security personnel and comply with all instructions given at the University gates and within the premises.
Any student or non-student who violates the established rules and regulations may face disciplinary or other appropriate action by the relevant authority.
The success of the Cultural Carnival depends not only on entertainment and celebration but also on our collective commitment to peace, order, security and safety.
We therefore encourage everyone to come prepared to celebrate responsibly, peacefully and respectfully.
We look forward to welcoming you to a successful, peaceful, colourful and memorable Cultural Carnival as we celebrate the richness and diversity of our cultural heritage.
