*UDUS Debate Club Shines at the 2026 NUC Debate Competition*

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University Debate Club proudly represented Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, at the 2026 National Universities Commission (NUC) Debate Competition, which commenced on 17 April and concluded on 15 May 2026.

The University was represented by two exceptional teams:

Team A
Abubakr Muizat and Ololade Edun

Team B
Joshua Joseph and Nazir Sulaiman

Both teams delivered commendable performances in the tournament.

Team A advanced to the quarter-finals and semi-finals, earning prestige as one of the top 8 teams out of over 60 teams..

In addition to the team’s outstanding showing, members of the Club recorded impressive individual rankings among the best speakers in the competition:

Ololade Edun – 12th Best Speaker

Abubakr Muizat – 15th Best Speaker

Nazir Sulaiman – 18th Best Speaker

Joshua Joseph – 21st Best Speaker

These achievements are a testament to the hard work, discipline, and commitment of our debaters, and further affirm the growing reputation of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Debate Club on the national stage.

After 7 impactful days of training, learning, and competition, the UDUS Debate Club Public Speaking Bootcamp 2026 has officially come to an end.

From 20th – 23rd April, participants engaged in intensive training sessions, while the tournament phase (24th – 26th April) ended yesterday with an exciting Grand Finale.
