Mona School

Mona School Mona School has been established to provide children with training to fulfill their potential so they will become useful adults in their community.

In September of 2000, Mona School began in Sapele with 4 kindergarten children. As of September 2013, Mona School has 3 permanent buildings with 280 children attending. The approach in kindergarten is that learning is interesting with hundreds of materials available to be used. The teacher presents the material to the child and the child works with those activities by his own choosing. Thus these young students become owners of their learning. At primary and secondary levels, teachers present facts from the Nigerian curriculum in various ways to ensure understanding. Other topics are discussed for general knowledge. The majority of the teachers in Mona School are women as their role is to nurture the young ones. The staff includes two who are Montessori trained. Regular weekly in-service training is provided to enlighten all staff. In June of 2009, the graduating class all scored distinction in the Delta State Primary 6 School Leaving Exam. The beautiful buildings were built by Eternit Limited, as their community contribution. The spacious field allows for sports activities, growing fruits and vegetables and raising domestic animals.

AND THAT IS A WRAP

What a beautiful way to bring our Summer Classes to an end.

After weeks of classroom learning, creative activities, practical experiences, games and unforgettable moments, we stepped outside the classroom for one final experience.

Our pupils, together with their parents, had the opportunity to unwind, connect and create beautiful memories at Afon in Delight Dreams Eatery.

It was laughter.
It was bonding.
It was fun.
It was memories being made.

From the very first day to the final outing, this summer has been a beautiful journey of learning, discovery and growth.

And now, we can proudly say

CREATIVITY CAME TO LIFE

Our little learners turned simple materials into something beautiful.

With wool, craft materials and lots of imagination, our Kindergarten pupils created their very own teddy bears. What looked like ordinary materials became something special in their little hands.

This is what learning looks like when creativity meets fun.

Every little hand created.
Every little mind imagined.
Every little effort produced something beautiful.

At MONA SCHOOL, we are not just teaching children what to learn. We are giving them opportunities to create, explore and discover what they can do.

And yes, their teddy bears were absolutely beautiful.

LEARNING DOES NOT HAVE TO BE BORING

Our Primary pupils showed us that classroom learning can be exciting too.

From lessons to class discussions and engaging activities, every moment in the classroom was an opportunity to learn something new and understand things better.

The Summer Classes may be coming to an end, but the knowledge gained will remain.

Meaningful learning.

This summer, the classroom was definitely not boring.

From Ingredients to Enjoyment

What happens when learning meets creativity? You get a room filled with little chefs, curious minds and lots of excitement!

During our summer classes, the kids had the opportunity to learn how to make sandwiches and prepare Chapman. From getting the ingredients ready to carefully following each step, they were fully involved in the process.

Beyond the fun, the activity helped them develop practical skills, teamwork, confidence, creativity and the ability to follow instructions. And of course, the best part was seeing them proudly enjoy what they had made themselves!

At Mona School, we believe some lessons are best learned with your hands, your creativity and a little bit of fun. 🥰🥰
