FILLING THE VOID…..
The absence of love is one of the most dreadful things that can happen to anyone. It’s the binding cord in any kind of relationship.
The family is the unit of the society and as such should be the grounds to demonstrate love.
We need love to survive and we need it for progress here on earth. Withdraw love and you can crush an otherwise happy, healthy person.
Research have shown that human (and other animal) babies need to be held, cuddled, caressed and loved from the moment of birth. This need for love is not peculiar to children.
The challenges that teenager are facing with alcoholism, drug abuse, s*x addition can be traceable to an inner void and craving for genuine love. Unfortunately, they are searching for it at the wrong places.
Parents are so busy these days with the demands of providing for the family at the expense of proper upbringing of these kids. Nothing can substitute for the availability and involvement of parents in raising their children to achieve their God ordained purpose.
Love and discipline are like the two wings of a bird. Both are needed for the bird to soar. In the same vain, children need to receive the rod of discipline, and be given attention.
Even as adults, our need for love doesn’t diminish. Rather, it increases, for love is interwoven with self – esteem; the way we view ourselves from inside out. With this love, we grow and mature into healthy adults.
Love reminds us that we’re worthwhile. It feeds our self – esteem and our self – confidence. When I know I am loved, I outperform myself. If I suspect that I’m not loved, my performance can plummet.
To maintain peak performance, we need peak love. We need to be reassured daily that we’re loved. Love builds our perception of our own value. It increases our self – esteem.

With the increasing globalization and internationalization happening everywhere, it is vital for students to expand their worldview, to be taken out of our country(Nigeria) and get an opportunity to appreciate other cultures. Without this awareness, students will find it difficult to become worldly citizens of the 21st century. As a school we don't just have a responsibility for teaching our students our subject, we also have a duty in making students independent, mature citizens of this world. Taking them abroad offers them a chance to learn about other societies and value other people and customs.
