His hands moved with confidence.

Slowly...

A beautiful pot began to appear.

The student watched in amazement.

"This is incredible," he whispered.

Then...

Crack.

A thin line appeared on the side of the pot.

The potter immediately stopped.

He lifted the pot from the wheel and placed it with several other broken ones.

The student couldn't believe it.

"You worked so hard on that."

"What a waste."

The old potter smiled.

"Waste?"

"No."

"I paid for that lesson."

The student looked confused.

The potter picked up the cracked pot.

"This one reminds me that I used too much water."

He pointed to another.

"That one tells me I rushed."

Then another.

"And this one teaches me I didn't apply enough pressure."

The student slowly looked around the workshop.

He noticed something he hadn't seen before.

Those broken pots weren't rubbish.

They were records.

Every crack carried a lesson.

Every failure had made the next pot stronger.

The potter didn't become skilled because he avoided mistakes.

He became skilled because he listened to them.

Most learners do the opposite.

They get one question wrong...

Feel embarrassed...

Erase it...

And hope never to see it again.

But that's like throwing away a map because you don't like the route.

Here's something your brain does that many people don't know.

Your brain learns best when it detects an error.

When you answer a question incorrectly and then discover the correct answer, your brain compares the two.

That comparison strengthens memory.

It creates a stronger pathway than simply reading the correct answer over and over.

That's why correcting your mistakes is often more powerful than rereading your notes.

Think about learning to ride a bicycle.

You wobble.

You adjust.

You wobble again.

You adjust again.

The wobbling isn't slowing down the learning.

The wobbling is the learning.

The same thing happens when you're studying Mathematics.

Learning English.

Speaking a new language.

Playing the keyboard.

Using a computer.

Or mastering any new skill.

Mistakes aren't signs that you're failing.

They're signs that your brain is collecting information.

The real danger isn't making mistakes.

The real danger is making them...

And never asking why.

Great learners become detectives.

Instead of saying,

"I got it wrong."

They ask,

"What fooled me?"

"What step did I miss?"

"What will I do differently next time?"

That's how ordinary people become extraordinary learners.

Not because they fail less.

But because they learn more from every failure.

Don't judge yourself.

Investigate it.

Ask yourself:

"What was this mistake trying to teach me?"

Write down the lesson.
