Today, while teaching adults about Aristotle’s three pillars of persuasion which is Ethos, Pathos, and Logos but then I realized something powerful.

I wasn’t only teaching my students, I was teaching myself too!

Ethos is credibility.
Pathos is emotion.
Logos is logic.

And suddenly, I began to imagine the future.

Imagine a future where people truly understand communication and persuasion.

People will sell confidently, money will flow differently and they will stop hiding their talents because they are afraid or ashamed.

Public speaking is not only for diction teachers.
It is for business owners, parents, creators and anyone who wants to change their narrative.

I teach diction, phonics, I own a tutoring brand, I also help people with business registration and annual returns.
Just last week before our convention, I even made wrist beads and neck beads for close friends, guess what? I sold them.

Why?

Because communication is persuasion.

The moment you understand how to communicate clearly, confidently, and emotionally, you can sell almost anything.

But many people are still scared.
Scared of rejection.
Scared of speaking.
Scared of being seen.

Now imagine a future where people are trained not to be ashamed of their voice.

That is a beautiful future.
That is a disciplined future.
That is a confident future.

A future where people can boldly do what needs to be done at the right time.

My father didn’t stop me when I decided to become a Diction Teacher.
He allowed me wake up by 3am to prepare for work and leave home by 4:30am.

My first experience as a diction teacher was traveling to a school that was about 2–3 hours away from my house.

Sometimes, I even taught in two different schools.

My family supported me.

In fact, there were days my father would personally drop me off at Agege very early in the morning and drive off, leaving me to find my way from there to wherever I was going.

There were also days I didn’t even have enough money to get back home.

I still remember one particular day when all my feeding money had already been exhausted on transportation. I got lost around Anthony Village and still needed to get to Sango Ota.

Nne, I trekked, entered buses, and got to a point where my money completely finished.

I called my dad.

I didn’t even have a bank account then, so he sent me ₦3,000 airtime and asked me to sell it. That was how I got home that day.

My dad supported my teaching career and loved the effect it had on me.

But after some years, the stress started affecting my health badly. My daddy advised me to quit the job, and I did.

After about a year, I got another offer to teach again under another brand, and I accepted it.

I still went through similar stress, and when I stopped again, my dad warned me not to return to teaching Phonics and Diction anymore.

So I stopped.

However, during that period, my mother-in-law told my husband (this was before we got married) to encourage me to return to teaching because she believed I was very competent and truly happy whenever I taught.

Since we were already preparing for marriage, I started searching for schools that needed my services.

But before that, I wanted to work under another person again.

This time, I was rejected.

That was when my husband told me something I will never forget:

“You are too good at what you do to keep building someone else’s brand.”

That was how I started my own brand.

Starting my online brand was not easy.

Data subscription, taking care of my young child, house chores, my regular job, and many other little responsibilities made building an online business very frustrating.

At some point, my husband even suggested that I focus on the home and leave the online business since results were not coming quickly.

But I kept showing up consistently.

And after some time, the results started showing.

My husband became happy and proud of me.

Honestly, the fact that the road has not been easy is part of my joy.

I truly love what I do.

I love teaching.

It gives me joy.

Seeing children read well and speak confidently fulfills me deeply.

Sometimes, the journey will test you before it rewards you.

WHY DID I START TREASURED SPEECH ACADEMY LIMITED?

I noticed that many adults have so much knowledge, experience, and value to offer, yet they struggle to speak confidently about what they know or what they do.

Sometimes, even when they try to express themselves, poor diction or lack of confidence makes them feel less of themselves.

I wanted to help change that.

At Treasured Speech Academy Limited, we help adults and children become more confident communicators through diction training, public speaking, spoken English, and communication coaching.

I genuinely love people, and my family inspires me a lot, especially my son.

Watching him speak before different audiences made me realize that many people, both children and adults, simply need guidance, confidence, and the right communication support to express themselves better.

That is why I do what I do.

I help people find their voice, communicate confidently, and express themselves without fear or insecurity.

If you teach online, you need patience. These kids can tell you that you are talking too much and you can't do anything. They will tell you that you are being mean because you ask them to write, some will refuse to write and intentionally waste time but what can you do? Eh? You have signed up for it but if you overlook such behaviours, you are not a teacher o😂.

You use one hand to teach, you use one hand to correct and discipline. That's why reports are important. For us, we take it seriously. We write it every day and let the parents know of their kids behaviours in class.
