A snippet into my virtual performance for the NAIRRHA DAY 2026

This part really meant something to me.

Because I know what it means to hide your truth, not because you’re ashamed of it, but because you’re afraid it might change the way someone looks at you.

Sometimes, silence is not a choice. Sometimes, it is fear.

And that’s one of the reasons creating this piece for NAIRHHA and the Twefeeko team in Massachusetts 🇺🇸 was such a beautiful experience for me. To create art around something so deeply human, so important, and so often left unspoken.

Grateful that my art could help give these truths a voice. 🤍

It was a huge honour to contribute my quota as a performance poet at NAIRHHA 2026 — National African Immigrant and Refugee HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis Awareness Day, hosted in Massachusetts, USA 🇺🇸

This year’s theme, “Speak Up Today, Stand Strong Against HIV and Hepatitis B,” is a reminder that awareness is more than information, it is about creating room for people to speak, seek help, care for one another, and live without the weight of stigma.

I’m grateful to have used my art to add my voice to this important conversation.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to the entire team for trusting my art with such a meaningful message. 🤍

A little glimpse into What We Carry.

Created a magical performance with an actual magician Phoenix the phenomenal for the highly respected Dr Mrs Fetuga.

Omg 😭

To think that on this particular day, I had been transferred from hospital to hospital to hospital, and somehow still ended up here performing like my life depended on it.

Actually… it did. 😂

I remember how I felt that day. I was exhausted, uncomfortable, and honestly just trying to make it through after a major health crisis that same day. But somehow, when it was time to perform, I forgot all of that for a moment.

And watching this now, I genuinely can’t believe it was the same day.

Life is so strange.

Sometimes you can be falling apart and still make something beautiful, something so beautiful you get called back for extra recognition. Indeed, beauty comes out of pain.💆🏻‍♀️

Anyway… this was a really refreshing performance. 🥹❤️
