Distinguished guests, esteemed teachers, and fellow educators,

Today, we gather to celebrate World Teachers' Day 2025, honoring the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of teachers worldwide. This year's theme, "Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession," emphasizes the transformative power of collaboration in education.

Teaching is no longer a solo act; it's a symphony of collective efforts. When teachers collaborate, students benefit from diverse perspectives, enriched learning experiences, and stronger support systems. Collaboration fosters a culture of shared expertise, mutual respect, and trust, ultimately elevating the teaching profession.

As we reflect on the state of education, we recognize the challenges teachers face: limited resources, evolving technologies, and diverse student needs. However, these challenges also present opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration.

To recast teaching as a collaborative profession, we must:
- *Foster Peer Learning Communities*: Encourage teachers to share best practices, provide feedback, and learn from each other.
- *Develop Mentorship Programs*: Pair experienced teachers with new educators to promote growth, confidence, and excellence.
- *Emphasize Co-Teaching Models*: Pair teachers with complementary skills to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
- *Involve Parents and Students*: Engage parents and students in the educational process, promoting a culture of shared responsibility and accountability.

The Nigerian government has reiterated its commitment to improving teachers' welfare and promoting collaboration.

I AM A TEACHER
I am a teacher not because I went to college
Not because I am taught how to teach
Not because I am paid salary
Not because I have to teach to live
Not because there are no 'better jobs'
Not because I'm compelled.
Not because I want to be called Sir/Master.
I AM A TEACHER because it is my CALLING.

Sometimes I look at my certificate, my school, my pupils as I compare it with my salary, I laugh
When I look at what I teach, how i teach it, I thank God for taking me through college.

But when I sit down and look at the past, how the end has been for some teachers as compared to other professionals, I feel sorry for the profession.

But when I remember that it is the TEACHER that produces all other professionals, I feel blessed.

I am SATISFIED when I see my students becoming useful to the society.

I conclude that teaching is not just my job,
It's my CALLING.
It's my PURPOSE.
I feel proud being a Teacher.
I LIVE to TEACH!!!

Gradually, You Are Writing Your History!

Every day you wake up, every step you take, and every decision you make is a sentence added to the story of your life. Whether you are aware or not, you are the author of a personal history that time will not forget. You are not waiting for a grand event to begin your legacy. You are already living it, one quiet moment after another.

The things you do when no one is watching are not just forgotten moments. They form the character of the person history will remember. The way you speak to others, the manner in which you handle stress, the times you chose to be kind, or the times you stayed silent when it would have been easier to lash out. These are the quiet paragraphs of your story that may never make the headlines, but they matter.

Mistakes too have their place. They are not dead ends, but turning points. They show how far you have come and how deeply you have learned. Failure is not the enemy of legacy, but often the ink with which the strongest parts of your story are written. What you rise from becomes just as important as what you rise to.

Some days feel slow and ordinary, but do not be fooled. The story is still being written. Even in your stillness, history is shaping itself around your presence. The people you meet, the ones you influence without even knowing, the younger ones watching how you live, and the older ones hoping you will carry what they could not finish.

Time never pauses. And neither does your story. So be mindful, not only of what you wish to become, but of what you are becoming right now. Your words today may echo in someone else's tomorrow. Your choices today may build or break someone else's faith in goodness.

You do not have to be famous to leave a mark. You do not need a loud voice to be remembered. But you must be aware that your life!

To our SS3 Students,

This is your time. You've studied, sacrificed, and stayed in the course—now step into your exams with faith and courage.
2025 WASSCE and UTME are not just tests, but stepping stones to greatness. Believe in yourself, trust your preparation, and give it your best. We are cheering you on, praying for you, and celebrating you in advance.
