Dear Topsite,
The Student Union Government (SUG) represents the voice, aspirations, and collective will of the student body. It serves as the bridge between students and school authorities, advocating for rights, fostering unity, and ensuring that every student's experience on campus is enriching, empowering, and purposeful. As we embark on the journey of electing our representatives, the importance of a manifesto cannot be overstated—it is the blueprint for a candidate’s vision and the road map for their tenure.
A manifesto is not just a collection of promises; it is a statement of intent, commitment, and strategy. It defines the "what," "why," and "how" of the changes we seek. For candidates aspiring to lead, a well-crafted manifesto must reflect clarity, passion, and a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by the student community. It should be a promise rooted in realistic goals, achievable milestones, and the willingness to serve selflessly.

Students Express Disappointment Over SUG’s Failure to Deliver Souvenirs and Complete Capital Projects
In a shocking turn of events, the student populace have expressed deep disappointment and frustration over the Student Union Government's (SUG) failure to fulfill crucial promises during the academic session. Among the most glaring issues cited by the student body are the SUG's inability to provide students with souvenirs and their failure to execute vital capital projects intended to enhance campus life.
Throughout the academic year, students eagerly awaited the fulfillment of assurances made by the SUG, only to be met with empty promises and unfulfilled commitments. The absence of souvenirs, which are often a cherished memento of the student experience, has left many feeling undervalued and neglected by their elected representatives.
Equally concerning is the SUG's inability to execute planned capital projects that were meant to improve infrastructure and facilities on campus. These projects were crucial for enhancing the overall learning environment and student welfare, yet their non-completion has underscored a lack of accountability and effective leadership within the SUG.
The discontent among students has sparked widespread calls for transparency and accountability within the SUG.
In light of these developments, the administration is urged to take decisive action to address the grievances of the student body and restore faith in the effectiveness of student governance.
This article highlights the disappointment and frustration of students regarding the SUG's failure to deliver on promises of souvenirs and capital projects, emphasizing the impact on student trust and campus life.

Press Report
Headline:
SUG Football Competition Draws Criticism Over Mismanagement, and Lack of Essential Resources
---
The recent Student Union Government (SUG) Football Competition has come under fire due to widespread reports of poor planning and mismanagement, despite significant financial contributions from participating departments. The event, which was meant to foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among students, instead left many participants and officials frustrated and disappointed.
According to several sources, the competition was marred by a series of organizational failures. Despite collecting substantial registration fees from departments, the event was poorly managed, leading to confusion and dissatisfaction among participants.
One of the key issues raised was the improper payment of officials. Referees and other essential personnel reported that they were underpaid for their services, which significantly affected the quality and fairness of the matches. This lack of proper compensation has led to questions about the allocation and use of the funds collected for the event.
Moreover, the competition was criticized for its failure to provide necessary items and facilities. Basic requirements such as proper match equipment, first aid supplies, and adequate field maintenance were either lacking or poorly managed. These shortcomings not only impacted the safety and enjoyment of the players but also tarnished the reputation of the SUG as an organizer of student activities.
In light of these issues, there have been growing calls for transparency and accountability from the SUG. Students and the Press are demanding a full financial audit of the event to determine how the funds were used and why so many critical aspects of the competition were neglected. There is also a strong push for the establishment of stricter guidelines and oversight for future events to ensure that such issues do not recur.
As the student community reflects on the disappointing outcome of what should have been a highlight of the academic year, there is hope that the SUG will take these concerns seriously and make the necessary changes to improve the organization and management of future events.

INTERVIEW WITH THE SUG PRESIDENT CONCERNING THE ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE BIKE MEN.
INTERVIEWER: Good day Mr President, how've you been doing?
PRESIDENT: I'm doing fine, we thank God...
INTERVIEWER: Let's dive into the business of the day.
Concerning the issue of the bike men, what can you say about it, since you're the one who took the action.
PRESIDENT: Good day to all topsite as I welcome you to this mini interview.
Ever since I started my administration I haven't imposed any tax on the bike men on like the past administration, all I want from them is to render their services properly and accident free.
I've always had the issue of bike men, from the price issue to the atrocities they commit in which I've been putting down on my own, i was only waiting for the appropriate time.
The incident that led to thier suspension was between the union P.R.O, where he was trying to sort an argument between a bike man and a student..
One thing is that they bike men on campus lacks cooperation/coordination among themselves cause how will they have 8 different chairman, why not 1 or 2 as their representative.
I've tried to address the bike men issues countless times but this left me with no choice than to take the action.
So therefore I appeal to the general student to please bear with us for the time being as we're working to find a lasting solution to it.
The management set up a committee on it already since the day of the incident which has been working to find a lasting solution to it to avert future occurrence.
INTERVIEWER: Why did it take so long for you to address the issue?
Why is it during the exam period ?
PRESIDENT: The Issue that prompted us to take the step happened the second day of exam (last week Tuesday). Immediately the incident happened I tried to bring an alternative where we told the tricycles & bus drivers to be at (challenge) neagle area in which they were there, but the students refused to make use of it.
The second thing is that we make use of the union bus to convey student living in challenge and apinnite for free between the hour of 7:30-8:30am.
INTERVIEWER: From the press findings/research so far, the bikers are happy they are outside the campus because they charge the same amount not even considering the fact that they wont enter the campus and also the price of fuel that has gone down.
What has been your step as regard this.
PRESIDENT: We did price regulation some weeks back and we understand there was a change in fuel price in which we all understand but before the increment in their charges we was supposed to be notified so we can dialogue together, but they didn't show up, they went ahead without them notifying the union or the school management.
Concerning the price they charge, we stated it in the memo we released last week that any student making use of the bike men is on his or her own because they're not recognised presently until the committee is through with the assignment given to them.
The only means of transportation recognised as of now is Tricycle and Bus.
INTERVIEWER: How long will it take to resolve/find a solution to the issue at hand.
PRESIDENT: This week, before the week runs out, the committee assigned for it are working tirelessly to make things work out, what we're doing is for the benefit of us all (the student at large).
This time around it'll be a condition for you to be a bike man on this campus and also to have 1 or 2 representative (chairman) among then so we can hold them responsible if things go sideways.
Before the week runs out, things will be put in place.
Thank you all for your cooperation so far and good luck in your exams.
