*Psychology highlights the 8 reasons why parents are responsible for their children's waywardness :*

(Copied)

1.) Parent who give their children everything they ask for: _Their children will grow up thinking they have a right to whatever they want._

2.) Parents who laugh when their children speak foul language against others, especially older persons: _Children grow up thinking disrespect is normal and fun_ .

3.) Parents who do not reprimand children for bad behavior: _Their children grow up thinking that there are no rules in_ _society_ .

4.) Parents who cover up their children's misdeeds: _Their children grow up thinking they can do and undo with impunity; that they won't have to give account of their misdeeds._

5.) Parents who stop watching television because their children cry when they change channels: _Children will grow up without a sense of respect for older persons_ .

6.) Parents who let their children listen to music that objectivizes women, encourages s*x and violence? _You can't sow thorns and reap cotton, can_ _you_ ?

7.) Parents who give their children money whenever they want: _Such kids will grow up thinking money is easy and would steal when they can't get it_ _correctly_ .

Dear parents,
As you must have noticed around you, there is an outbreak of mumps(segede) and other viral infections like conjunctivitis(apolo), measles. The weather is changing and we are gradually approaching dry season hence the viral infections.

Kindly improve your ward(s) immunity by trying out the following and more.

1. Make them wash their hands regularly. Especially when they return from school.

2. Increase your child's water intake (a minimum of 2 litres daily).

3. Deworm if you have not done so already.

4. Reduce the intake of junk food and carbonated drinks especially now.

5. Increase the intake of fruits, greens and vegetables.

6. Make them eat appropriately and moderately.

7. Dress them to suit the weather.

8. Visit the hospital if and when the need arise.

9. Finally, please do not send a sick child to school.

May the Almighty God protect us and our children

An emergency and a special Ogun State education stakeholders meeting was held yesterday at the instance of the honourable commissioner for education, science and technology in Abeokuta. Chaired by his counterpart from the ministry of justice. The honourable commissioner for justice and attorney general of the state.
The issue of discipline and corporal punishment was extensively discussed. Every stakeholder made their presentations.
In my presentation as the President General of all Private Schools' association in the state. I made the following statements:
1. The bulk of indiscipline in private schools are parents initiated and parents oriented.
2. There are cases of minimal corporal punishment in private schools but most times parents take it out of proportion.
3. Our teachers are morally disciplined to a large extent because of close monitoring and supervision.
I made the following specific prayers
1. Mass and continuous education of parents by the ministry through all state media houses on child discipline starting from punctuality and the rest.
2. Establishment of the department of Private Education in the ministry of Education to specifically work with private schools.
3. Regulation of establishment of schools and their proximity to one another in the same neighborhood.
General conclusions
1. The use of Cain on students in Ogun state should be discouraged.
2. Teachers should get creative with administration of reprimand or punishment.
Thanks,
