Do you know how important dance is to culture?

Dance is one of the most powerful forms of cultural expression. Beyond the attire, beyond the language, dance tells stories, preserves traditions, communicates emotions, and reflects identity.

This week, our cultural exploration focuses on dance as a means of expression. We are teaching our learners that through dance steps, movements, rhythms, and performances, people can often identify different cultures and traditions across Nigeria.

From energetic cultural performances to symbolic movements, every dance style carries meaning and history. It is more than entertainment, it is heritage, identity, unity, and expression.

As part of our activities for the International Day of the Boy Child, we took intentional time to engage our boys in meaningful conversations centered on their mental and emotional well-being.

During the session, our learners were taught the importance of:
🧠 Mental well-being
🗣️ Healthy communication and self-expression
🤝 Building positive relationships with fellow boys and girls
🌱 Growing into responsible and emotionally aware individuals

We are committed to creating safe spaces where our boys can learn, express themselves freely, build confidence, and grow into better individuals for tomorrow.

It was truly a memorable and meaningful International Day of the Boy Child celebration at Cloverhall International School.

A well-raised boy grows to become an excellent brother, an amazing uncle, a responsible father, and a great leader in society.

That is why today, on the International Day of the Boy Child, we intentionally celebrate our boys, their dreams, their voices, their growth, and their future.

At Cloverhall International School, we believe in raising boys with character, confidence, compassion, and purpose.

Happy International Day of the Boy Child to every amazing boy out there!

This week, our focus is on respecting our traditional attire.

As part of our cultural exploration this term, we are teaching our learners the importance of valuing and appreciating the beauty, identity, and meaning behind our different traditional outfits.

In a world where fashion trends are constantly changing and creativity continues to evolve, it is important for children to understand the difference between trends and cultural identity.

Our traditional attire represents more than clothing, it tells stories, preserves heritage, reflects values, and connects us to our roots.

At Cloverhall, we are intentionally raising learners who appreciate culture, respect identity, and proudly celebrate who they are.

Have you come across this word before?

"Depredation"

It is the act of attacking, destroying, or causing damage or loss.

Learning new words helps us communicate better and grow our vocabulary every day.

Happy New Week from all of us at Cloverhall International School.
Let’s learn, grow, and shine this week!

At Clover Hall International School, learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom.

One of the things we love about the Cambridge curriculum is its strong focus on activity-based learning — because children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process.

This week, our learners explored English Language lessons in exciting and practical ways.

Our learners participated in a Book Hunt Activity in the library, where they learned how books are organised by author, genre, and publisher. The lesson encouraged observation, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking while helping children develop important library and research skills.

Another class explored Instructional Text Writing by practically making ice lollies before writing instructions on the process. Through this hands-on activity, learners naturally developed their understanding of action verbs, sequencing words, connectives, and clear instructional writing.

These experiences make learning more meaningful, engaging, and memorable for children.

At Clover Hall, we believe education should inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a genuine love for learning. By combining the Cambridge curriculum with active learning approaches, we help our learners develop not only academically, but also socially, creatively, and practically.

Because sometimes, the best learning happens when children are given the opportunity to explore, create, and experience learning for themselves.

We’re steadily moving into the term, and it’s not too late to share what we’ve been exploring so far.

Our theme for the term is “Different Roots, One Future – Celebrating Culture, Building Unity.”

This term, our goal is to reconnect our learners to their roots by actively teaching and celebrating the rich cultures across Nigeria.

Week 1: We introduced the theme "Different Roots, One Future", helping learners understand our differences and how unity makes us stronger.

Week 2: We focused on "Identity and Self-Awareness", guiding learners to understand who they are, where they come from, and why it matters.

This Week: We’re exploring "Language as the Voice of Culture" because language is one of the most powerful ways culture is expressed and preserved.

It’s already shaping up to be an amazing and enriching term, and we’re excited for all the cultural experiences ahead.

Stay with us, there’s so much more to learn and celebrate!
