JAMB Withdraws Some 2026 UTME Results, Schedules Mop-Up Exam for Affected Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun withdrawing some 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, with affected candidates set to retake the examination during an upcoming mop-up exercise.
In notifications sent directly to impacted candidates, the examination body informed them that their previously released results had been withdrawn and that they would be rescheduled for another exam date.
The notice sent to candidates stated:
“Your 2026 UTME result has been withdrawn. You will be rescheduled for the mop-up exam. Date and time will be communicated accordingly.”
As of now, JAMB has not issued an official public explanation detailing why the affected results were withdrawn. This development has, however, sparked concerns and mixed reactions among candidates, parents, and education stakeholders nationwide.
Reports indicate that the mop-up examination is likely to take place in the second week of May, as JAMB continues preparations for the 2026 admission process into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Candidates affected by the withdrawal are advised to remain attentive and regularly check their registered phone numbers, email addresses, and the official JAMB portal for updates on their new examination dates and venues.
Education stakeholders have also encouraged candidates not to panic, emphasizing that the mop-up exercise offers another opportunity for eligible students to complete the admission process without jeopardizing their chances of gaining admission.
More details are expected from JAMB in the coming days as the Board provides further clarification on the situation.
