Have you noticed that your voice sounds smoother and more controlled when you sing softly, but becomes strained when you try to sing loudly?
There may be a simple reason: when you sing loudly, you may be using too much force.
Remember, singing louder doesn't always mean singing better.
Here are 3 simple things to remember:
π DON'T PUSH YOUR VOICE
Louder is not always better. Pushing your voice can create tension and affect your pitch.
π« USE STEADY BREATH SUPPORT
Good breath support helps your voice stay clear, steady, and in tuneβeven at a lower volume.
π BUILD CONTROL GRADUALLY
Start softly. Focus on your tone and pitch, then slowly increase your volume without losing control.
π― TRY THIS:
1. Take a comfortable breath.
2. Hum βmmmmβ softly for 5 seconds.
3. Sing βahhhβ softly for 5 seconds.
4. Sing the same note at a medium volume.
5. Repeat 3β5 times.
Focus on producing a good soundβnot simply a loud sound.
β KEY POINT:
If you sound better when singing quietly, it may be because your voice is more relaxed and controlled.
Don't just sing louder.
