We are an established professionally independent and non-profit making body known as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) charged with the responsibility for registration, training, research and discipline of any erring member, and for related matters. The act to establish the institute was enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Repu
blic of Nigeria and assented to by the President on the 30th Day of April, 2007. And gazette through the Federal Republic of Nigeria official gazette No. 82 of 4th July, 2007 vol. 94, Government Notice No.53 the Act known as, Act 21 of 2007, established the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (CIPSMN). The Institute is the leading professional body and the largest in Nigeria today, as far as supply chain management profession is concerned. It is now recognized across Nigeria and beyond, as organizations in recognition of the profession demand membership of CIPSMN. Arising from this therefore, the institute is a professional body and can assist you in so many ways to get more from your career. VISION STATEMENT

Improve-the knowledge of procurement executives in terms of quality record keeping and the international best practice in their organization
Enhance the professional realization of the economic reform agenda of the federal government of Nigeria

I shall subject my self to the service of God
I shall be faithful to the letter and the spirit of the ethical codes of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management: the laws of my country and to the moral Standards of my business organization I shall do all in my power to dignify the supply chain management of my organization
I shall be fair to my employer, employee, associates, competitors, customers and indeed the general public. I shall buy without prejudice, seeking to obtain the maximum ultimate value for each kobo spent. I shall subscribe to and work for honesty and truth in buying and selling, denouncing all forms and manifestation of commercial bribery. I shall perform my obligations dutifully and in consonance with good business practice. I shall neither seek from nor grant to a friend or relation, any privilege or advantage" not normally accorded others in business or profession. I shall recognize the honour and respect due to all other professions, which are useful to the society.
