FG Introduces Temporary Passports For Nigerians Abroad

The Federal Government on Monday inaugurated an electronic temporary passport to replace the emergency travel certificate for effective identity management.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said in Abuja that the temporary passport was an electronic document with all the features of a regular passport.

According to Aregbesola, the difference is that it is temporary and valid for one trip and will be retrieved from the user at the entry point.

“The temporary passport is ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) compliant and is valid for only 30 days.

“It’s a replacement for the hitherto emergency travel certificate issued to Nigerians in emergency situations where their passports were not available and had the need to travel to Nigeria.

“This new document is not a replacement for the Nigerian passport; it’ll only serve a temporary purpose in the case of loss or misplacement of the Nigerian passport by a Nigerian abroad.

“In the light of the present security challenges faced by the country, the temporary passport will no doubt help to checkmate the excess of criminal elements that takes advantage of the ETC to infiltrate the country,” he said.

The minister further assured Nigerians having difficulties with obtaining the Nigerian passport that the challenge would soon end. (NAN)

UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT COLLEGE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION ADMISSION INTO THE PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES AND DIRECT ENTRY FOR THE 2020/2021 SESSION

This is to inform the general public that sale of Application Forms for admission into the Part-Time Degree Programmes of the College of Continuing Education (CCE), University of Port Harcourt for the 2020/2021 session has commenced. Applicants who posses A/Level GCE or Diploma from recognized institutions may be admitted through the Direct Entry mode.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Holders of WAEC/SSCE, GCE O’ Level or their equivalent with credit passes in five (5) relevant subjects,(including English and Mathematics) are eligible to apply.



The following subjects: Book Keeping, Business Studies, Typewriting, Secretarial Studies, Shorthand, Social Studies and Health Science, Food and Nutrition, and Home Economics are not acceptable.


ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS FOR THE DIRECT ENTRY INTO THE PART TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Direct Entry Requirements:

Candidate must have at least two A/Level passes in HSC, GCE or JUPEB, NCE/Diploma with (Upper credit) in relevant subjects from any recognized institutions in addition to five credit passes in WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE “O” Level or their equivalent at not more than two sittings may apply for the Direct Entry Programme in any of the courses listed below.

Woman And Her Lover Caught During A Kidnap Operation (Video) '

A young woman and her lover Ikechukwu John from Ohafia in Abia state were nabbed by the security operatives during a robbery and kidnap operations they carried out, WonderTV media reports.

Items recovered from them are 3 AK47, 3 locally made pistols, magazines and ammunition.
According to Ikechukwu John, he is a car dealer and he sells both stolen and genuine cars. He confesses that the guns in which he uses for operations were given to him by a friend who is currently serving time in prison.

Luck ran out of them after they snatched a car and held the car owner hostage.
WonderTV gathered that the young woman and her lover have been snatching people's cars and kidnapping them as well.
The woman when interviewed said they rented an apartment to keep their victims because they were tired of spending money keeping them in hotels. She said she knows what They did is wrong but because she loves Ikechukwu, she couldn't tell him to stop the crime.

Senator Okorocha Arrested For Unsealing Seized Hotel (video) by sapphiere(f): 7:44pm
Immediate past Imo Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha has been arrested after he dared Governor Hope Uzodimma to reopen the Royal Palm Estate sealed by the State Government.

Accompanied by his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, the former Governor broke the keys to recover the estate belonging to his wife, Nkechi.

Infuriated by the ex-Governor’s action, loyalists to the State Government confronted them in a clash that left one person injured.

Imo Government on Friday had recovered the Royal Palm Estate along Akachi road.

The seizure, according to the team led by Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, was in compliance with directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on recovery of Lands and other related matters.
