Possessing the qualifications is not enough; poor spoken English can still lead to you being downplayed.

I was present at the airport yesterday to welcome Godsgoodness Kokoette, the winner of the I Beg to Differ national debate, whom I assisted as a diction coach. With her was her coach, Mr. Ani.

In the end, proper diction played a pivotal role.

This competition taught me that grammatical, semantic, and pronunciation errors, although often overlooked, can be a determining factor when subjected to scrutiny.

Congratulations 👏🎉 once again!!

Should you say "few" or "a few"?

The main grammatical difference between "a few" and "few" lies in their connotation and the sense of quantity they convey.

Both are quantifiers used with plural countable nouns like "books," "friends," or "ideas."

A Few

"A few" has a positive or neutral connotation and means "some" or "a small number." It emphasizes that a small but existing quantity is present.

* Example: "I have a few friends." This implies that you have some friends and are not lonely.

Few

"Few" has a negative connotation and means "not many" or "almost none." It emphasizes a relative lack or shortage of something.
* Example: "I have few friends." This suggests that you do not have many friends and might feel lonely.

"F**k up"

many people in Nigeria use it quite casually to mean "made a mistake," but it's good to be aware that it's generally considered an offensive or vulgar term.

Here are a few other words you can use instead of "f**k up":

* Mess up: "He really messed up on that project."

* Slip up: "I hope I don't slip up during the presentation."

* Bungled: "They bungled the entire plan."

* Blundered: "The new recruit blundered and sent the email to the wrong person."

* Botched: "The whole thing was botched from the beginning."
