Good morning, great classmates.

Lately, many of us have been seeing our mates celebrate their 50th birthdays in grand style.

Beautiful parties. Lovely pictures. Classy venues. Children in good schools. Comfortable homes. Big moments. Big memories.

And to be honest, sometimes it can make you pause and quietly measure your own life.

But here is the truth we must not forget.

𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲.

For some, it is a big celebration.
For others, it is the quiet peace of paying bills, raising children, keeping a home together, staying honest, and still standing after many storms.

Your children may not be in the most expensive schools, but they are being educated.
You may not live in the biggest house, but you have a roof over your head.
You may not be where you imagined at this age, but you are alive, learning, growing, and still trusting God.

That alone is a blessing.

Let us celebrate those who are celebrating. Let us rejoice with them genuinely. But let us not allow anybody’s highlight to make us forget our own journey.

Life is a marathon, not a dash.

Fifty is not the end of the race. It is only another lap in the circle of life. The next lap may still become your strongest, wisest, and most fulfilling season.

So today, count your blessings. Thank God for what you have. Keep building. Keep showing up. Keep living a life that reflects peace, purpose, and God.

On Easter Sunday, he dedicated his twins to God, a beautiful moment of thanksgiving, faith, and gratitude. Then on Easter Monday, he celebrated his birthday, making it a truly memorable and joyful season for him and his family.

These moments are not just personal milestones. They are reminders of God’s goodness, His faithfulness, and the blessings that make life truly meaningful.

We also appreciate everyone who took out time to be part of the church service, the reception at the NDDC Guest House, and the football celebration at the NTA Field, Rumuokwuta. Your presence added warmth and love to these memorable occasions.

Today, as an association, we celebrate not only a classmate but also a brother and a valued part of the bond that keeps us together. Pereowei Ebioteigha Joses has remained one of the people whose presence, goodwill, and commitment continue to strengthen the spirit of our 1993 graduating set.

Yesterday, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, Represenatives from the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 ’𝟵𝟯, gathered at 𝗦𝘁. 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 by 𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗽.𝗺. for the 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 of our dearly beloved sister, 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗯o𝘄𝘂.

It was a painful moment for us all.
A night filled with tears, memories, prayers, and heartfelt words. As we sat together and listened to the beautiful things said about Kabor, one thing stood out clearly, she truly lived a life of meaning. She poured herself out in service to others, touched lives deeply, and gave so much of herself to humanity, especially in guiding young people with Christ as her example.

The tributes were heavy, but they were also beautiful. They reminded us that a good life is not measured by how long we live, but by how much love, kindness, and impact we leave behind.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: for everyone who will be available to join tomorrow morning, the body will be leaving 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 Mortuary, 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, by 𝟲:𝟬𝟬 𝗮.𝗺.

We will be gathering at the gate. Please note that 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, so anyone driving can please join the convoy with their car.

The body will be laid by 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗮.𝗺., and the burial service will be by 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬 𝗮.𝗺. at 𝗦𝘁. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹’𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗹, 𝗢𝗺𝗼𝗸𝘂. Entertainment follows by 𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟬 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 at the family compound.

May God comfort everyone she left behind, and may the beautiful legacy of 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗯o𝘄𝘂 continue to speak for her.

As the years go by, Mothering Sunday begins to mean even more.

There was a time when motherhood was all about the little things. “Mummy, where are my shoes?” “Mummy, I don’t like this bread.” “Mummy, help me with this.” Back then, it was the simple, everyday demands of raising children.

Now, for many of us, the journey has grown deeper. We are not only mothers to children, but guides to young adults, comforters in difficult seasons, and for some, even grandmothers stepping into a new and beautiful chapter.

Motherhood is not only in giving birth. It is in the patience, the sacrifice, the listening ear, the prayers whispered in private, the strength to keep showing up, and the wisdom to hold families together even when no one fully sees the weight you carry.

And yes, let us be honest, many of us have also had to “mother” the men in our homes too. From picking up after them, to answering questions like “Have you seen my car keys?” after they dropped them somewhere themselves, you ladies have done it all with grace, strength, and love.

To every woman in this association, we celebrate you today.

We celebrate your sacrifices.
We celebrate your strength.
We celebrate your tenderness.
We celebrate your resilience.
We celebrate the love you keep pouring out, even on days when you are tired.

And to those who are not yet mothers in the physical sense, please know this: your care, your support, your nurturing spirit, and the way you show up for others still reflect the heart of a mother. Motherhood is also seen in the lives you touch, the burdens you help carry, and the love you freely give.

Today, we honour every woman among us.
Thank you for being pillars.
Thank you for being covering.
Thank you for being love in human form.

May God continue to strengthen you, bless you, preserve your homes, and reward the labour of your hearts.

With heavy hearts, the Association of Port Harcourt Secondary Schools (1993 Graduating Year) wishes to inform classmates, friends, and loved ones of the burial arrangements for our dearly departed classmate and sister, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗼, of the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 ’𝟵𝟯, whose passing has left us deeply saddened.

Though words can hardly capture the pain of this loss, we join the family in mourning a woman whose life touched many. Dianga will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the generous spirit she carried so gracefully.

As we continue to grieve, we respectfully note that the burial arrangements have been made by the family, and we share them here so that classmates, friends, and associates can stand with them in prayer and support during this difficult time.

It’s with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear sister and classmate, **Ros Dianga Alakembi**, who tragically lost her life in a motor accident yesterday in Bayelsa.

Rose wasn’t just a name in our set — she was warmth, laughter, and love in human form. The kind of person whose presence made people feel seen, cared for, and safe. This loss is painful, shocking, and honestly hard to accept.

She was a Rose from Holy Rosary

As 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗿𝗶 (𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 ’𝟵𝟯) 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶, Lexy M has shown steady leadership—mentoring young creatives, promoting cultural pride, and building platforms that let talent breathe. This new role is a natural step.

We’re confident you’ll bring people together, elevate Ogoni arts, and spotlight the wider Rivers creative economy. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵—credible shows, fair platforms, real opportunities.

We also look forward to the forthcoming Ogoni concerts in honour of November 10—celebrating legacy, art, and identity in a way the next generation can own.
