The categories of Nigerian Work Permits are:

Temporary Work permit - F8A which is issued to foreigners with specialized skills invited to carry out maintenance, installations and repairs on Equipment and Machinery, conduct training, capacity building and Audit.
It is a single entry permit for temporary employment for a duration of 90 days.

Temporary Work permit - R11 is issued for the same reasons as F8A. However, it is a multi entry permit for a duration of 6 months.

The last type of work permit is issued upon arrival in Nigeria with an Employment (Expatriate) Visa - R2A formerly know as STR Visa. It is a type of permit issued to persons who wish to take up long term employment in Nigeria. This Work permit is issued for 2 years and its renewable.
