Yesterday, some ladies and I were talking about our phobia for gas cookers and electricity. Why? Sadly, I believe in a second, everything can go wrong. When I see shops on the street refilling gas cylinders and electricity poles, I race past them.

However, later in the day I remembered a greater phobia was even the policemen, we encounter daily on our streets the way at which they wield guns; carelessly and scary .
I like gist, but you see, if I am on the street and see officers and people gathering to know whats happening, I'm racing in the opposite direction. Me, police and guns? Not happening!

I can't say the police is my enemy but you see that friend part? let's just leave it. The stories I hear, the things I read, the way I see them carry themselves at checkpoints and traffic gridlocks, I cant help but shudder, "how can I be friends with these people"? In the dictionary, I just see the word 'police' no distinction between Nigerian police and other nations' police. So why so different? When I see vacation pictures to other climes, part of the tourist pictures are posing with police officers, is the same obtainable with ours? I have always known that the duty of police officers is to maintain peace and order. Why do ours maim, cause havoc and chaos?

I agree with everyone who says it's not just but .

We can't keep living in fear for our brothers, husbands, cousins, nephews, friends .......the female gender isn't even left out of the scourge.

I join the cause and I demand
.

I don't know about you, but I'm excited about this month.

The previous months of this year has been 'blehhhh' for me but I'm thankful to God for life!
I'm super excited about September! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ Why? Can't say maybe because of the amazing children I'll be connecting around the world as our first set of subscription packs are dispatched this week or just simply because this is going to be a really good month.
I hope it continues to peak for the rest of the year.

Let's finish strong!!! Yes, we can!

I HAD A FATHER!

I grew up with tons of books because I had a father!

It's 15 years today I lost my dad and most of what we do at Bloomers Hub is inspired by what I learned from him.

As a child, I had lots of storybooks, activity books, educational books and toys to engage me. It gave me a better view of life.

I have encountered lots of children in my work and after careful consultation, Bloomers Hub is launching something amazing tomorrow in memory of my Dad and the kind of learning he provided us.....different from what you have from the four walls of a typical school.

FINGERS CROSSED!
ANTICIPATE!
EXCITED!
STAY TUNED!

PICTURE: This bookshelf amongst many others has featured in all seasons of my life.
