A MUST STUDY SERMON
Preacher: Pst. Mofiya Amos
Topic: Sn**ch Men Away From Hell
Text: Jude 1:23
INTRODUCTION
In the book of Daniel's 3, after King Nebuchadnezzar made the golden image for all Babylonians to worship, it was as if he knew that, not everyone would obey him, so he ordered the construction of a fiery furnace. How, this fire was set up remains a mystery, but the Bible reveals that, the fire could be heated up 7 more times to burn more than the usual.
In this fiery furnace, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego the three Hebrew brothers were thrown into. The hotness of this fire when it became heated up, killed all the soldiers that threw the Hebrew brothers into the fire, but the fourth man appeared and snatched the lives of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego out of this wicked man made fire.
This passage shows that, God has the power to deliver His own from any man-made fire of destruction - Isaiah 43:2b, but as it was in the case of S***m and Gomorrah, no man except God Himself can save any man from the fire of God that burns by reason of God's wrath and judgement.
When God used fire and brimstone to destroy S***m and Gomorrah, it took the angels of God to save Lot and his family, and even at that, Lot's wife paid the ultimate price for disobedience as she looked back and became a pillar of fire - Jude Jude 1:7 TLB
INSIGHT FROM OUR PASSAGE
The fire of hell is no ordinary fire for any to toil with - Jude 1:23.
If the fire of Nebuchadnezzar was not one to be toiled with, if the fire of God that destroyed S***m and Gomorrah and descended the cities to hell, cannot be toiled with, anyone who toils with God is playing with fire.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HELL
1. Hell is a place that God has set aside to chain demonic powers and to reserve them unto judgement - 2 Pet. 2:4
2. Hell is a place of eternal fire that has been set by God's anger has set an eternal fire to display His anger, Deut. 32:22.
3. Hell is a place of deep sorrow, pains and troubles - 2 Sam. 22:6, Psalm 116:3.
4. Hell is a place where sinners nakedness has no covering - Job 26:6
5. It is a place that never gets full or satisfied - Prov. 27:20, Isaiah 5:14.
6. Hell is a place that is set aside for demons and the powers of the underworld - 2 Peter 2:12 TLB
7. Hell is a place where fire burns and worms that never dies - Mark 9:47-48.
CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE THAT ARE HEADING TO HELL
1. Hell is a place that those who wants to get rich at all cost, and become evil minded usually ends up at - 1 Tim. 6:9 TLB, Psalm 49:8 TLB
2. People who forget God and practice wickedness - Psalm 9:17.
3. Those who have said no to the Truth - 2 Thess. 2:10 TLB.
4. People who plots the destruction of others - Psalm 63:9 TLB
5. People who are rich to themselves and never considers others - Luke 16:23.
6. Those who abandons the laws of God and practice prostitution - Prov. 2:16-18, 7:1-27, Prov. 9:13-18.
7. People who calls others fools - Matt. 5:22.
2. We must see it as a duty to save others from the fire of hell - Prov. 23:13
One of the ways to save ourselves and others is by living disciplined and principled lives. We must discipline our appetites and bring our entire body under subjection - 1 Cor. 9:27. When you lack self discipline, it becomes difficult and hypocritical for you to discipline others.
In S***m and Gomorrah, Lot & his family remained faithful, Noah stood out in His generation, and God expects same from us - 2 Tim. 2:19.
3. We must fear God and not stain our garment of salvation - Rev. 3:4-6, Mark 9:45
- Luke 12:5, "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." NIV
CONCLUSION
In Mark 9:42-50, Jesus Christ Himself warns that those who allow themselves to be channels where others fall into hell will greatly regret to that decision. Also, Jesus forewarned that we must never allow ourselves to get into the terrible fire of hell and that we should exercise self discipline and completely cut off whatever will make us enter into hell.

INTRODUCTION
One of the worst things that ever happened to Israel as a nation, was the losing of the ark and presence of the Lord to the Philistines in the days of king Saul.
In I Sam. 4, the Bible reveals that the children of Israel camped for battle, beside Ebenezer a place Samuel anointed a stone to signify the help of the Lord. Ebenezer means (my stone of help), and the children of God were so certain that they will receive the help of the Lord, but to their greatest surprise, God did not render them the help they anticipated, and because God did not help them, the Philistines killed 4,000 men among the soldiers of Israel.
When the elders saw that God was not helping them in the battle against the Philistines, even though they were in Ebenezer, they decided to fetch the ark of the Lord in Shiloh to save them. When they brought the ark of the Lord, they shouted aloud, and when the Philistines understood that the Israelites were shouting because the ark of the Lord had come into their midst, they became afraid.
But the Philistines summoned courage to fight, and Israel lost 30,000 foot soldiers, and fled before their enemies.
As the Philistines captured the ark of the Lord, same day, Eli's two sons Hophi and Phinehas were killed. A man from the battle escaped to give report in Shiloh, he dressed himself on sackcloth and poured ashes on his head, and when he explained how the Philistines captured the ark, the whole city began to cry out - I Sam. 4:13, when 98 years old Eli found out that the people were crying because of the ark of the Lord, he fell backward from his seat, broke his neck and died.
Phinehas wife who was pregnant and close to delivery, when she heard that the ark of God has been captured, immediately had a forced labour, with complications and died while giving birth to a son she named, Ichabod. In that same battle that the ark of the Lord was captured, the king Saul died with his three sons including Jonathan, so whenever a child of God, a family of God, a church of God, a nation of God looses the presence of God, calamities upon calamities begins to befall them.
LESSONS FROM OUR PASSAGE.
1. David was afraid of the ark and presence of God - 6:9.
After the Philistines returned the ark of God, David arranged men, to carry the ark, but they carried it wrongly on a new cart, instead of on their shoulders. It was Uzzah who paid the price for this mistake.
- The presence of God in our lives or homes in not what we should joke with. When God's presence comes in our lives and homes that presence can make or mar us.
2. David carried the ark of God into house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
- This man Obed-Edom housed the presence of God in his home, and in three months experienced a divine turnaround. Nobody brings the presence of God to His home and remain the same - II Cor. 3:17 (Where the presence of the Lord is there is liberty).
3. Understand that losing the presence of God in your life or home brings nothing but disaster.
4. Any house that welcomes Jesus Christ receives His miraculous interventions - Matt. 8:14-15.
5. Never let the enemy capture the presence of God in your life and homes - Matt. 13:25 (When Men Slept)
- "The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it." Lev. 6:12.
CONCLUSION
To sustain and retain the presence of God in one's life and home, the altar fire must keep burning through constant house fellowship.
- "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.β Matthew 18:20 NIV.
Indian missionary and martyr, Sadhu Sundar Singh, wrote in his diary, βIt is easy to die for Christ. It is hard to live for him. Dying takes only an hour or two but to live for Christ means to die daily [to self].β
I am glad and privileged by grace to go on this journey and experience of faith in Christ Jesus, in living daily for the honour of Christ and in dying daily to myself, that I may live to fulfil His divine purpose and be raptured to live the everlasting life.
THE SCRIPTURE REMAINS MY STANDARD!
Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I Just Love This Man

I've just reached 500 followers! Thank you for continuing support. I could never have made it without each and every one of you. ππ€π
God's people must see God for who He is, a God of grace and mercy and a God of wrath and judgement. Any perception of God that falls short of this is deceptive and a distortion of who God truly is.
"I don't care what church you belong to,
Just so long as for Calvary you stand.
If your sins have been washed in the foundation,
Your my brother, so give me your hand."
A Quoted Chorus by David Legge, in his exposition of 1, 2, and 3 John.
SOMETHING TO PONDER ON!
Ask God for anything you want or need and if it is best for you, in His timing, He will give it to you. But more than anything else remember that, more than anything else, you need more of His in your life.
More of His presence, His ways, His Character, His wisdom, His understanding, His power etc. God is everything and we are nothing without Him. Jesus said, "Apart from Me, you can do nothing" John 15:5).

"As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.
Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me." Psalms 55:16β-β¬18 NIV
