LET'S TALK MAPS SHALL WE?

When it comes to MAPS in IELTS, most students have a love-gate relationship with it. But i am here to tell you that it should not be so.

MAPS are actually very interesting

First things first;
*Take note of your map compass, is there a compass? A compass is your direction that shows you EAST, WEST, NORTH AND SOUTH(If there's none, do well to draw one)

* Take note of the features of the map.
What do you see on the map? Trees? Buildings? Roads? Houses?

* Take not of the questions accompanying the map? Are you expected to fill the labels or fill with letters

* Take note of where the map starts.
Is there a place labeled reception? Or entrance (this marks the beginning of the map which is very important for anything you are doing)

3. Writing Section

Academic IELTS: Task 1 involves describing, summarizing, or explaining visual information like graphs, charts, or diagrams. Task 2 is an essay, which requires you to present an argument, discuss a problem, or analyze an issue.

General IELTS: Task 1 involves writing a letter (formal, semi-formal, or informal), while Task 2 is also an essay but often deals with more general topics, usually related to daily life or societal issues.

4. Listening and Speaking Sections

These sections are the same for both the Academic and General IELTS. They assess your ability to understand spoken English and communicate effectively in everyday situations.

The Listening section involves four recordings (conversations and monologues), and the Speaking section involves a face-to-face interview with an examiner.

5. Scoring

Both tests are scored on a 9-band scale, and the scoring criteria are the same for both formats. However, because the Academic test is intended for higher-level education or professional purposes, it may be viewed as more challenging in terms of the reading and writing tasks.

In summary, the main differences between the Academic and General IELTS are found in the Reading and Writing sections, with the Academic version being more focused on academic and professional content, while the General test is geared toward practical, everyday English usage.

One of the things we encourage students about, is the fact that an individual can easily score a band 9 in IELTS LISTENING MODULE.

To score a band 9 in LISTENING, these are basics you MUST do.

1) Avoid distractions
2) Read your questions and understand them before your audio plays.
3) Make sure you spell correctly.
